Man, the A's are collapsing hard. Getting spanked 7-2 by the Rangers today after giving up 6 runs in the 9th in a loss to them yesterday. Giving up Cespedes was dumb in hindsight, but looks like they had a lot of offensive guys playing over their head. Donaldson at 254 has the highest average for them in their lineup. Ouch. That would be 7th best in our lineup

    Yea, it is nuts.

I will say that I never thought it was a good trade for them...Cespedes was at the heart of their lineup and was a emotional leader/heart of the team. This is where intangibles play a significant role.

After blowing a lead last night, Broxton gives up a 3 r HR to Russell Martin to trail 3-2. It's that time of year for Broxton...so glad we don't have that fucking choker anymore

CHeck this guy out. Im so happy for John. This guy played a couple games in my league( back when I was playing competitive ball and running my league in SGV. He had a showcase game for scouts against my team and pitched 3 scoreless innings. The stands were littered with scouts and the radar was pumping at 96-98 mph steady. He was wild as shit though but as a result of that showing he was drafted in the 4th round to the Mets. Went on to have issues finding the strike zone and arm trouble led him to Indy ball. Except for now he's closing out games in a pennant race apparently.
For the record I struck out with 3 foul balls. Two hard hit down the 1st base line ( i was way late on the 98 mph cheese) Then I fouled one straight back to the catcher for strike three. Saw some dirty off speed stuff. I think the count was 2-2 when I finally went down. It was a crazy feeling looking at his 6-7 245 pound frame on the bump throwing darts...He gave up a hit to my cousin but thats the only contact anyone made. I also got to play 2nd base behind him as he pitched a game for my team that season as well... his stuff looked sooo dirty...

I sincerely hope John makes it.Local Boy from Rancho. His older brother Lincoln played pro ball as well.

    BEST OF LUCK JOHN!!!

New Zealand is actually claiming this guy to be our first ever major leaguer! Not often baseball makes the news here, but he's been shown on primetime news. Pitches for the New Zealand national side.

    Ken Rosenthal@Ken_Rosenthal 50m
#Dodgers’ De Jon Watson likely to join #DBacks as assistant to Dave Stewart, sources tell me and @jonmorosi. Stewart close to being named GM

This was more about Stewart than Watson. Stewart getting the GM job means he will no longer be Kemp and Billingsley's agent and that is a good thing.
