Thanks for asking. Still waiting for taste and smell to return, but other than that, I'm doing OK. Very happy I didn't have to deal with any high temps or respiratory issues.

Bad news is wife tested positive yesterday. As of this morning she still feels relatively good. Hoping she got a false positive.

    How about you and yours?

    thanks for asking
last night was the worst so far
wife woke up at 4am with a 101 temperature and sick to her stomach
she’s down to 99.5 right now, but a little dizzy and weakened
amazing that, so far, i haven’t caught it from her
i should have the results from my 2nd test sometime this weekend, but (again, so far) i have no fever and only minor symptoms
    praying for the best

    aw fugh
    my heads only half here
thanks for asking blazer, really appreciate it
wife is really sick but still at home
sleeping right now as we speak
i’ve tested negative twice, but i feel pretty crappy tbh
today is day 11 under quarantine for my wife, and today and two days ago were awful
yesterday she actually felt improvement in the morning, unfortunately that was only momentary
doctors are useless... not their fault, they just don’t know what to do
we both have zero appetite, but we’re still eating as healthily as we can
not sure what to do, caring for my wife as best as i can
but i feel so fkn helpless

sorry for the rant guys, just had to vent somewhere to someone and we are kind of a family (albeit dysfunctional lol)

and thx again for asking blazer

Yeah man this virus is just shitty. It affects people so differently. Lots of fluids, if difficult breathing try laying on your stomach. Vitamins with Zinc, Vitamin B complex, Vitamin C and D. My gramps, mom , dad, sisters, brother in law’s and nieces nephews all had COVID and this worked well for them all. Lots of feedback from colleagues as well.

and you’re right brother. Family here. Dysfunctional as fkuck.

This is a website where you don't need to apologize for going on a long rant about personal stuff.
    Safe Space

All jokes aside fuck the covid, God bless your wife for putting up with a member of DSP.
Give her coconuts, buy a dozen and give her two in the morning before she eats.
Just the water. Then you or her can eat the food later. But let that coconut water hit your kidneys on an empty stomach and let it circle around for at least half an hour before you start eating.

Doctors can't do anything good other than stop you from dying if you are about to die, maybe.
My dad had a cold for a couple of weeks but no covid. His tests were fine.
His wife got covid and because he is compromised they took him to the hospital to help him breathe.
He got sicker there and had some kind of attack and also did end up with covid.
They put him in the torture machine to help him breathe and he did not survive it.
Covid is a bad SARS mutation that gives you lung attacks making it hard to breathe which make it hard to taste/smell and leaves your blood with low amounts of oxygen causing all sorts of issues in many of your organs and limbs.
    Its bad news.
Doctors that don't know what to do because they can only do what the books the drug companies publish say they are supposed to do.
So when novel things happen they have no answers and can't innovate or even go backwards to older traditions because it is anathema to their scientific beliefs which are stationary and useless during a pandemic or whenever something new is happening.
Science will strip you of your last shred of dignity and tell you they are trying to help you.
    Help you die.
Kaiser lied to my mom about our grandpa too with the cancer.
No more cancer they said and a few months later he has it again and dies a couple days after they tell us he has it.
    That was 25 years ago.
My point is don't trust the doctors.
Normally fine, trust them if you want but right now they have no clue.
You are better off trusting Mr Miyagi and making your wife some ginger lemon tea and cutting out the mucus causing foods like sugar/dairy/wheat till lungs improve.
And whatever you do don't let them put her in that horrible machine.

Man, very sorry to hear about your dad bro.

yeah this novel shit is uncharted.
and it affects everyone differently. It’s just amazing to me.
I have friends/ family that have been tested positive with zero symptoms
Others who have had mild symptoms
While others severe and been in ICU survived and some who have passed.
Patients who have passed who have pre existing health conditions etc.
Hard to put your finger on this thing. There’s no book on it... the book is being written NOW
The problem is the stories everyone hear are about it not doing shit but take their taste or smell... or being asymptotic.
This gives false hope and makes people think it’s not real.

Colleague of mine who’s in his 50’s , diabetic but otherwise healthy, nearly died. Hospitalized for 3 weeks, missed 2 months of work but thankfully beat it. Big part of this story is he had to endure some bullshit to get treated. gets picked up by an ambulance from home, sent to local hospital which turned him away because they were full so ambulance goes to the next closest hospital and they make them wait in the parking lot for 7 hrs before they could unload him and get him into the ER. What a fucking shit show.!

my wife who’s been an RN for 20 years and hasn’t worked bed side for 10 years has been called into work night shift nursing COVID patients and has been doing this for months.!

my own employees calling me each week to tell me they or family have tested positive. Or they need bereavement leave because their sister died.

the stories I hear...Morbid for sure and maybe not well received here because politics.

    But I’ll say this ...

    shits real homies.

    Stay safe bkitches

    Condolences Rube

just for the record i don't know anyone who is denying it exists
also not pretending it wasn't leveraged for political advantage
my heart goes out to anyone and everyone dealing w this
they are still currently treating it w a one size fits all attitude
seems like there must be some genetic predisposition to the severity
the fact remains 99% of us are finding the other side of this
bless your wife btw and strength to my DSP brothers

My condolences, Rube. The method that you describe in which he got it must be maddening. Sadly, I'm hearing more and more accounts similar to his.

My dad would never survive if he's exposed. We're doing everything we can to keep it away from him. Praying that this vax will protect him sufficiently. One shot down, one to go in about three weeks.

Sorry for your loss Rube. I have an employee that lost 3 of his older brothers in the span of 30 days to Covid. He had it as well but got through
The nightmare continues as he and his family have to wait 30+ days to have services for each brother due to the backup of deaths
    No closure at all. Sucks...

    Appreciate you asking.

My isolation period ended Tues. Taste and smell are slowing coming back.

Wife's isolation ends tomorrow. She's without smell and taste, too, but no other symptoms.

We dodged the worst of it.

From what I've heard (and you may have heard differently) once you've had it you might test positive for about a month afterwards even if your symptoms have disappeared.
