Selig is far from dumb. Although it is not saying much, he was the best commissioner in sports.

Since Manfred intends on having the ASG continue to decide home field advantage for the World Series.

Yes. He's just a dumb as Selig.

A completely stupid idea. Positions (outside of C and P) are arbitrary to begin with.

And a shill and coward and a manipulated POS , IMO. Much of what's wrong with BB falls directly on his scoleotic, rounded Quasimodo shoulders. But because some like his utter dilution of the game with extra WCs and the stupid ASG result, etc., some love him. call him innovative and great. had to finally make some moves about 'roiding; he was forced to by the percentage of users after years of NOTHING....
A puppet for the owners, and a capitulator for maximum greed.
BTW, this move about shifts is way before he came...it has been tossed around for a substantial time now. I posted about it months ago....

Stern was by far the worst. And I'm not just talking about the CP3 nixed trade. Him also being the commissioner for every single lockout in NBA history also, the Donaghy betting scandal, etc.

Stern is maybe the greatest commissioner in sports history.

Absolutely, and a big reason why just about any defensive metric in use today is subjective in nature.

Stern didn't do shit, neither did buss. The entire league rode on Jordan's back and has been slipping since he retired.

The thing with basketball is to win you need stars.
So all stars go to the major market cities and play with each other
this is why the bobcats, bucks etc and teams like that will never be successful.
They can draft well but most likely wont keep the stars there long
Minnesota has a good nucleus right now. Shabazz was playing really well before injury. Zach Lavine looks like a stud in the making. Rubio when healthy adds a good passing pg. A Wiggins has been coming along. Bennett on the bench. Most likely they wont be able to retain all these players and they wont be attracting KDurant anytime soon..

the nba is getting more and more sensationalized. Niggas dont wanna play defense. Can you believe the fewest ppg in the nba right now is like 96 points
Shit, what happened to like 88pg and being a lock down defensive team. Ainn nobody wanna play defense these days

And it gets predictable. You know what 6 teams in the west are a lock
The east 8th seed is basically 500 or below while the west 9th seed has nearly 50 wins. 49 didnt make it last year iirc
The west 8th seed is the easts 3/4 seed LOL.

The draft only produces a number of good players.
Its hard to find good players in the second round
The lakers arent good right now so who even cares that much about basketball.
I guess thats why more people are getting in ncaa hoops. Games can actually be exicting

    In terms of defensive shifts
Yeah lets ban creativity. Lol every team should incorporate defensive shifts.
Statistically it is proven to work. How teams neglect info like this is beyond me. Dave stewart low key doin us a favor though he the mvp

If you think the DH is legit, and/or should be in both leagues and are OK with all that drivel, then I don't get how banning a defensive shift is a no-no...it was all done (DH) for offense and to make more money by pleasing the offensive minded fans, and so is this fucking outrageous proposal. It's the same thing, only a defensive booked to match the offensive one by licking the "more O" and never ending greed taint of MLB.
So now we may have both for the sake of hitting and making more money.
And it may help Ortiz, as mentioned above...maybe the kid was right when he said "this guy is bigger than the game....or thinks he is". Paraphrasing, of course.
