    I wish the old wild card rules applied. I know our playoff chances increase with the extra wild card spot, but I hate 1 game playoffs and think we'd at least have a great shot at the top WC spot.

    imo you settle for a wild card, if that's the best you can do
    you should never ever aim for/or be content with it
    the division and best record should always be the regular season goal
    and with our payroll, the wild card (should we stumble upon it) should still be considered a monumental failure

    6.5 out with 102 games to go is nothing. If the Dodgers can rack together a couple of good weeks of baseball, we will be right there with the Giants. Everyone has a bad spell in baseball at some part of the season, and the Giants aren't going to keep up their pace all season. Our rotation is too good for us to only be 4 games over 500.
