Walk the leadoff hitter, two seeing eye singles and Wade (who else?) single and that's it. Fuck the Rox.
So fucking frustrating that we can’t even lose 1 game like this because horse ass teams like the dbags and Rockies lay down against the giants.
This whole bullpen game idea is a travesty. Didn't have a chance from the get go. But those mutherf*cking Rockies can kiss my ass.
Whatever we blame it on...and there's soooo fucking much to, it boils down to the ugly fact that the Giants lose less than we do. Simple math. They had two bp games in a row against us, and our "probably will get the Cy Young" pitcher laid down and rolled over for them. Greene giving up a late HR. Taylor not in the vicinity of the ball making the last out. Things like that are the reason why at this late stage of the game. We crap out when we need it most...they do the opposite. They do what they need to to win.
Win today and you take three of four on the road in St. Louis. Unfortunately you still lose ground. Give credit to White for giving them five innings after a disastrous first. Shane Greene is a hanging slider waiting to happen. Hope he's history when Gonsolin and Kershaw return. Some bum luck in the 9th. Both Muncy and Smith hit at 'em balls at the RF. Taylor's recent slump is reaching Bellinger levels. Looks hopeless at times.
Yeah, we're good....but just not good enough it seems. And the breaks definitely are not going our way, but some of the bad breaks are the fault of the lineup at any given time. Justin finally snaps out of his power outage, belts two homers. What does Dave do? Sits him down the next day. For some unknown reason, one of the Robertsonian principles. Break out= sit down the next day. What happened to " going with the hot hand"? Going with the player who gives you the best chance to win ? So instead, you play Pujols against a very crafty RH pitcher...and what does he do? Exactly what he did do...ground outs. We heard all year long how he hits LH. I'm all for Albert and his Hollywood movie moment he had, sure...but you need Turner in the lineup. Especially since the Pollack factor is no more...if at all this season after that stupid, unnecessary steal attempt. And looming is another few situations that are very ugly...the Padres for one. But one of the most dangerous teams in bb, imo, are the Brewers. And who do we finish up with ? Milwaukee. I don't know where we'll be at 159 games in relationship to the Giants. I just know if we're real close, tied, or ahead, my faith in Dave for games 160, 161, and 162 is very troubling. I just think he'll make it even harder than it has to be. Therein lies my faith.
Fuck this Roberts-special lineup. Has he just thrown in the towel? And even if there's some kind of explanation for having Sousa, McKinney, and Barnes starting at the same time, let's just be clear... they're ALL better than Bellinger. I just don't get how the league's worst hitter could be slotted in the five-spot. Roberts keeps outdoing himself.
Fucken Roberts' love for Bellinger bites us in the ass immediately with Cody popping out with bases loaded. WTF was he thinking????? This guy hasn't had a key hit in weeks and he's hitting fifth? What a gift for the Cardinals.
I guess, at second look, Gonsolin wasn't so bad after all. It's just that so much of the lineup is useless flotsam, and the malaise brought on by their zombie brand of baseball dilutes everything... I could see if he were forced into this, but he's not. And he's got guys like Colletti backing him up, telling us how necessary it is...if you sit Seager, do have to sit Smith, too? Or vice versa...
Well, there you go...and O'Neill looks like the biggest douchebag on earth, too. This is all on the top four in the lineup...Roberts, with his genius construction of it, leaves a gigantic zero from 5 down. So fucked up.
