This is why I wrote more often than not but they'll have 5 days off before the NLDS starts so that should nullify the trend.
Game sucked but at least some relievers looked good. Wood looking that good against righties and lefties is great, he should get strong consideration for the playoffs. Having a lefty who can get righties out also is huge
Playing at home game 3 and 4 will benefit Maeda and our #4 a lot imo. I trust Kershaw/Hill on the road for game 1 and 2. Last two times we opened on the road in the NLDS, we won. Last two times we opened at home, we lost.
My concerns: 1. RISP (We always suck with RISP in the playoffs it seems like. Low scoring games and can't push enough across) 2. Lefties (We suck against them) 3. Road Games (We are less than mediocre on the road)
This goes for all MLB. All teams production goes down against RISP. All teams production goes down against lefties. All teams production goes down on the road. Your concerns are every baseball fans concerns. Dodgers have the same weaknesses others have.
http://proxy.espn.com/mlb/standings/_/type/vs-division I believe we're 16 - 10 at home versus lefties.
We are statistically a .500 team versus lefties. And people who just see numbers and take them at face value lose their faith. Numbers lie. They tell a story that is factually true but actually irrelevant. The Giants are 28 and 22 against lefties which makes them the 4th best team in all of baseball after the Cubs, Brewers and the Indians. The Brewers are the best team vs lefties at 30 and 18... but are a sub .500 team by a big margin. What should maybe be a concern is that we play in the worst division in the league and were a .500 team in interleague.
