It's weird to see this kind of love from NZ. if it makes you feel better, he's still very much in the postseason conversation. He's not dead, he's just in OKC.
Watching Curtis Granderson stink the joint out will do this to a man. Keep plugging him in 2, 3 and 4 Dave. Curtiswood. Star attraction, and only 36 to boot. Real potential. Haven't seen a player stare down a strike three fastball like him since the great Logan Forsythe.
This #22 tonight looked a lot like the #22 of old. Slight improvement over the three stooges who started in Arizona.
Last year... This year Joc Pederson cant hit a lick... in the minor leagues. In the majors he cant even lick a hit. He can lick a tub of ice cream in no time flat though.
Yeah, because the Spanish used to send verdugos to do their dirty work. Verdugo means underboss. Or more precisely the lackey of the state/king/power that carries out corporal punishment or executions. Usually hooded as the verdugo was needed but also despised as he represents the corrupt nature of the executive who cant carry out his own executions and needs someone else to hold the young green stick that stings like a whip.
Not taking into consideration what's best overall for the team, Barnes is just better at baseball than Grandal. That's my hot take.
I agree, and I also believe Joc is not over. He is not a CF though, he can play it and do a halfway decent job on natural ability alone, but even that is slipping. When he was hungry maybe But now he is happy and fat and that has made him miserable and dadbodied. He has a huge hole, fuck it. He cant hit lefties very well, fuck it... we'll fix it in post. Start him in LF vs righties next year, it should be his job to lose in ST. Granderson and Ethier should be gone or at least afterthoughts by then. The grocery bagger has to prove he is back from injury before getting his shot back in LF. So it is up to Joc to bring something to the table. So put on the muscle and become a big beefy power hitter who goes .260, .360, .525 with 30 HR vs righties even if he sucks balls vs lefties.and hits .200, .320, .420 with 10 HR vs them. Thats a very low bar vs lefties but if Joc can meet that and be a good bat vs righties he is viable. Thats a 40 HR year and something good on base percentage. Probably some good D in left as well. You ride him as the weak link in the 8th spot vs lefties like we do Puig. Wait for him to hit lefties better and give him half the year to figure it out, if not then you gotta platoon him in the stretch run/playoffs. Verdugo is no lock for CF either since he has his own problem. Taylor needs a lot more experience to get used to the position but he may be the best option. Either way 2B is not a problem with either him or Barnes ready to play.
