Everything they say should be taken with a grain of salt, but they know a lot more than we do about the business. I definitely think there will be teams interested in trading for Price. They're going to want a package of prospects, end of story. They got Wil Myers for James Shields. I added Cano in there too because we have other things we have to do first, like resign Kershaw/Hanley. You can't just sign/trade for everyone.

Buster Olney said on yesterday's podcast that the stronger rumor is about the Dodgers going after Price, and mostly because the owners are pushing the thought "we want a championship, and we want it now". That's why everyone says they'll go after Price

I don't doubt it, and even if they do win, Nolasco will need to be re-signed or replaced. So their is an open spot in the rotation, as Billingsley won't be available until June or later.

Bills will be ready for Opening Day or around that time... he went under the knife in April, and supposedly is ahead of schedule... recovery time is around a year, so he could make opening day or about 2 weeks after...

not sure what's Beckett's schedule or status...

nope. that's not the end of the story, dude. sorry. there just aren't a bunch of teams out there who can afford to gamble that the Dodgers won't zero in on Price when he becomes a free agent, thus you aren't going to see 5 or 6 teams looking to send their best prospects over to Tampa for what could be a rental. the Dodgers have financial muscle now and their impact is felt years down the line. Shields went to the Royals because he's not nearly as expensive as Price is going to be, so they could do business...the Royals feel they can keep Shields, so they didn't mind sending Myers.
once again, Kershaw's and Hanley's signing won't deter anything. what'll deter the Dodgers is somebody who's looking for a contract that's longer that 5yrs. anything within that range is a possibility because the cash is...i don't if you've heard or not...limitless, but they don't wanna have to go beyond that time period and lock themselves in bad deals where the production is lacking. 180 BILLION is controlled by ownership + the 7 BILLION dollars they're getting out of the TV deal basically means all of the Dodgers' spending habits will be funded by Time Warner making sure they put the best product on the field. it's that simple. they don't even have to try to unload Kemp and cash because of the money...they just need to because they need to start mixing in more youth. they saw what Puig did for this team with his energy. Joc would be a nice fit in center for this team as a younger/more durable guy who could grow with Puig/Kershaw(and Price) and the rest of our younger guys with Seager on the way in a couple years to join them.

When we're less than 6 months out from surgery, i'm not and i'm sure Ned and co. aren't banking on him returning in minimum time and when he does, as anything but a luxury.

Guys don't come back from Tommy John and throw 220 innings. It wouldn't make sense to rush him back, and even if he is way ahead of schedule a few months out of the bullpen or building up strength would be smarter for him.

As with Wainwright and most TJ surgery guys the 2nd year after the surgery is when they are back to some semblance of the pitchers they were.

which means we can expect to see the mediocre Billingsley again in 2015 lol

can't believe people are even giving a shit about Bills. turning the page on that inconsistency. it's a new era

Didn't Bills have surgery in June??

I think Seager and Urias are untouchable and the farm is already thin or just starting to rebuild and get better. I would like Price a Dodger when he if a FA is the contract works. Kershaw and Hanley need to be extended this off-season. Would not want contract talks to go into next season when we are trying to focus on defending our 2013 WS Championship trophy

I want Scherzer after we land Price, gotta get someone to spread out the lefties in the rotation. Kershaw, Greinke, Price, Scherzer, Ryu would look nice and I expect 20 wins from each of the first 4 and at minimum 18 out of Ryu. Kidding.... partially kidding
