Especially considering they had little margin for error. Dodgers finally hit the ball today after hitting like limp dicks the first two.

Lost in the late game theatrics was a solid start by Mr Blister. Gave up the leadoff bomb
I don't see Jeff Hamilton walking through the clubhouse door anytime soon.

And Lucas Duda just destroyed the second pitch of Yoan Lopez's career. For those that don't remember, the Dodgers were believed to be close to signing Lopez as an Int'l FA, but the D'Backs swooped in with what was perceived as a way above market value contract.

watching baez give up the two run jack is a preview of where we are going to be if we get to the playoffs
clearly dave has decided he is key out of the pen
looks as good as he ever has for a few minutes and then boom and the wheels fly off
how many times does that need to happen?
if that fucker musgrave had injured JT i would have flown to CO to off him

Give Baez this.....he recovered to retire the next three hitters in a row. Times in the past he would have gone full blown Baez.

Baez is trash. I still have no idea what Roberts is thinking.

But Maeda also looks worn out.

Post season success seems like a distant possibility. Didn’t think I’d say that with a team that has MM, Dozier, a revived Kemp, and the the rest of the lineup from last year.

First half Kemp + a healthy Dozier and this team would be scary, instead we have a burnt out Kemp and apparently a broken Dozier that just admitted he has been playing hurt all season.

i don't think maeda is worn out i just think he is adjusting
the guy can pitch but closing is so different
maybe kenta feels he should still be starting idk
but long relief suits him better if he's in the pen

The thing is, last year he came out of the pen pumping 95-96 immediately and the results were awesome. This year he has come out of the pen throwing 91-92 and I am pretty sure that he was throwing harder as a starter earlier this season. For his case, something better be wrong, cause him throwing a fit over money would be BS. He was struggling and at the time, he was not one of the 5 best starters available.

Whether he likes it or not, his best fit for this team is currently in the pen. Had he been more effective as a starter, he'd still be in the rotation.

He might have fucked himself (financially) by pitching so effectively in the postseason out of the pen.

don't disagree but the mind of a million dollar athlete who knows?
i don't see the same animation in his face either
he certainly was pumped up last year no question
i know his contract is very friendly and predicated on innings pitched
the team said the were going to do something to restructure that or something
    maybe he feels insulted idk
