JT is just not a warrior
Smooth win by Kenley, what bullpen problems???
4-6 road trip against a good team in WSH and then going into Coors Field works for me
Even at 60.
If we can get production out of Tyler white and kristopher Negron, we’re gonna turn Gyorko into Jose altuve
there needs to be a Juan Cafe or Jose Brown to make this better.
It needs to be repeated a million times that in 2018, the Dodgers barely cared about the regular season, the Rockies were getting career years out of multiple guys, the Dodgers got manny and the Rockies did NOTHING at the deadline and then lost their best chance in forever to win a division and have an easy path to the NLCS. They’re stupid
Thank the Big Guy in the sky that Marquez got the mensies.
Glad Roberts didn't give JT any more rope.
Fielder, not the little late guy.
It’s such an under the radar poorly run organization. People blame Coors this and Coors that, but they still routinely fuck things up. Giving big money to Parra and Desmond, spending erratically on bullpen arms and seriously, HOW did they not acquire a 1B last season when teams were giving them away at the deadline?! Daniel Murphy could have been there’s for free and they passed. They will never fire their GM this soon as even O’Dowd was even a struggle to let go(then they just hired his protege). I always thought the Giants were gonna be wallowing in the gutter for the better part of the next decade, but the Rockies may be it. Plus, if they truly are shopping Blackmon now, I wonder how long before Arenado would snap.
But it's not like Arenado wasn't aware of the CO FO and the team's recent history. Even if their pitching was to come around to the hoped for level, he is out there every day and knows the Rox ebb and flow as an organization - mostly ebb. Did he think they would magically arise as champions ?
He doesn't appear to be a dunce, and went for the CO dollars, and could equaled what they gave him from another team, had he wanted.
The world was his oyster, ( read: Brinks truck), and his eyes were wide open.
If he snaps from frustration, asi es la vida, I say.
More importantly, we have absolutely left ourselves totally vulnerable, AGAIN, with the same exact problems that we had in the last two WS, without fixing it ad infinitum.
Trying to win a trade, instead of the world series, is just more of the same bullshit from this fucktard genius organization.
About time we called a spade a spade.
The Arenado thing is still very weird to me. He knows that his contract hamstrings that org a decent bit and he has repeatedly bad mouthed them in the local media. I honestly think it had a lot to do with the fact that for the second straight year, he was dealing with some shoulder issues down the stretch and maybe he was worried he’d be putting a deal like that at risk. It was apparently well known in baseball circles that the Dodgers were gonna throw a massive offer his way this year(Olney said that he’s the reason the club was getting under the tax). It also should be said that the Rockies did not offer him some discount contract, they definitely paid up. We will see how it all works out, but Arenado is notoriously vocal about shitty play around him, so his part of that contract in Colorado could be short.
But, the last 3 years theyve tried to win a World Series and not win a trade with the deadline trades and it still didn’t matter because our stars didn’t play like stars. It’s annoying they didn’t make a trade don’t get me wrong but it’s the first year since like 2015 they didn’t make the biggest deadline splash of any team. Tons of players just didn’t get moved this year, which is the more annoying part. If Vázquez, Giles, Colome, Noah, Wheeler, Diaz, would’ve gotten traded and we DIDNT get them, that would’ve sucked. But the best reliever traded was uh, Shane Greene? Best starter was Greinke who had the Dodgers on his no trade list . I mean i guess we could’ve traded Will smith or Dustin May for Shane Greene or something but idk, that might not even make us better in 2019 let alone 2020
I think without a doubt what this deadline did was point out how big a fuck up from the owners and FO it was to not just spend money on our problem in the off-season. Joe Kelly and AJ pollock being the big free agent signings is a huge season ending fuck up. They should’ve spent more money on relievers this offseason. There were plenty of good relievers available. That’s the big shitty fuck up that would’ve cost only money but the owners and FO are cheap as hell
Good points, but I gotta go with Verlander over Davish, every time, and twice on Sunday.
Maybe I'm misremembering ( Hillary says that's a word), but Darvsh doesn't trump Verlander...
What might have been if we had really gotten the best out there when he was ?
