Joc Pederson: Mr Mattingly. From what I have seen. Dre, Matty and Carl all suck. Why are you holding me back? Do you hate home runs and timely hitting?

    Donnie's new outgoing message

Thanks for all the calls and advice, I really do appreciate it but please keep in mind that I am the manager and not the GM. As such, I do not sign the contracts or decide who is called up, sent down or released. I simply work with the roster that I am given by my boss and it's unfortunately filled with guys who aren't living up to their contracts. I would love to blow up the team and spend 230+ million dollars more effectively, perhaps with more talent or guys who can play through a boo boo but alas, we here in the LA dodgers organization simply do not currently have those type of guys. I know a lot is read into my comments supporting these guys but in this PC world it's the crap I have to say in order to keep my job and avoid having a locker room full sissies in tears.

Thank you for your concern and have a nice day.

    beeeeeeeeeeep

^in response to dbb's new message...

anonymous fan: "thanks for the clarification. i realize you do not sign the contracts or decide who is called up, sent down or released, and that you simply work with the roster you are given. but.......... you do decide who plays on a given night, where they hit in the lineup, when to bunt, when to steal, who to bring in to relieve, when, how long they stay in, etc., right???"...

I'm happy to see you're sticking with League and Crawford.

Meh, the team is 25th in the league in BA and OBP, doesn't much matter who hits or where with systemic failure. Bunting gives many of these guys a chance to get on base. As for the bullpen management, without roster changes DBB can't make, he has to use everyone available to avoid burning out the guys who are pitching well.

Just to be friendly, I'm going to pretend you didn't just make a stupid fucking statement like that. I'm sure you meant to say something that made sense.

Was it somewhat facetious? Yeah, but not entirely, when you have roughly 1 batting average point per million dollars of payroll, bunt. Swinging away isn't working.

On the current roster there are 3...MAYBE 4 guys who have the speed to leg out a bunt for a single. Even then, it has to be a nearly perfect bunt. Bunts give away outs, we do that fine without the bunt.

Bunts do give away outs........if you're hitting well.
To some extent the discussion becomes circular here because with kemp, crawford and puig hitting 196, 217 and 256 respectively, what are they really giving away? Force the defense to make a good play, possibly get a cheap hit and have some speed on the bases to make something happen.

i don't know if bunting (per se) is the answer, but i get what fyouk is saying
if things aren't working, try something different -- bunting, stealing, hit and runs
what's that saying about repetition and insanity... :retard:
