    Used to love getaway games at DS. Vinny called them "businessman specials" back when that term meant something. He'd also describe the stands as a "shirtsleeve crowd" which was when men wore short-sleeved collared shirts from work to a day game... ans the occasional flyball would get "lost in the shirtsleeves" ....

    Damn, I miss those days.

    Last night made me way more sad about Kershaw retiring.

    This guy has always been willing to do whatever it takes to help the team and is as unselfish of a star as you can ever dream of having on your team. I’ll never forget how great he pitched out the pen in 17 after Yu pee’d down his leg. Such a quality player and person.

    Hardly a smooth ride in the latest edition of How the West was Won. Crippled starting staff early, Mookie's shrinkage, injuries and subsequent slumps by Max, Teo and Edman, the massive failures of Scott and Yates in the pen.

    The boys broke out the big sticks yesterday to ice it. How Sho hits one into the pool one-handed is one of a kind shit. Great to see Freddie break out. He'd been looking like an old man at the plate of late. Big thanks to the Dbacks for throwing their batting practice pitcher (Gizmatt). Forgot that he was once with the Dodgers.

    Another masterpiece in pitching by Yamamoto and no stress nine outs from the pen.

    Great seeing Kershaw enjoying the postgame celebration. Hoping he has three more.
