nine straight games coming against nl west opponents
three each against the d'bags, rox and padres
if we win any less than six of those nine, dbb should be fired

How many of those will he pitch? On the days he doesn't pitch, what position does he hit?

Since this post the Dodgers have gone 18-9 (.667). My theory was 30-20 (.600) would put us in a good position. I deeply regret the my miscalculation, apologies to all.

On the other hand, regarding the pumpkins,...did I call that or WHAT???

Although I revel in our success as much as the next guy, I think considering the point in the season we are at, gloating and overconfidence is a serious mistake, IMO. I surely hope the team itself doesn't let recent succeses put them over the line...there is a long battle still ahead.
People can do and say whatever makes them happy, but to discount them right now, write them off as dead, is very much like the asshole Giant fans did with us a few short weeks ago. Obviously, we weren't dead and buried just yet.
Baseball is a funny game, and can turn around on a dime.
Like Dee showed us the ying/yang last night, sometimes the ball rolls your way, and sometimes it does not.
This is where Donnie, if he does have any talent and saavy as a manager, must take charge. This is the year, a golden opportunity, to quiet the many critics he has, including myself, and silence them forever.
    Or for a while anyway.
It is the nature of baseball fans to grumble; always has been.
    We'll see.

I don't blame Mattingly for most of our issues, right now, Perez and Haren and Wright and Maholm are trouble when they pitch, but Colletti has more of a say on who goes and comes, so it's more his fault.
