Well, I'm glad to see him going on the DL, because at this point it's probably the best move for everyone - Kazmir and the team. Let him take his time figuring out how to get healthy and back to where he should be for when the team needs him. In the meantime, Dodgers are fortunate to have other solid options, and can now focus on finding which five make the most sense and give them last minute work before opening day. I'm sure there will still be plenty of opportunities for him to earn his contract.

    Very astute analysis.

My question has to do with the stumbling girl. Once saving-the-popcorn was no longer an option, shouldn't her avoid-face-plant instincts have kicked in?

Either this is a bad angle, or this umpire fucking sucks. Seems to be squeezing Ryu a bit, but his stuff seems a little better in the second. Soft contact when he doesn't float a hanging curveball over the heart of the plate.

Lol She needed a Spidey sense there, or a Navy SEAL roll tutorial.
I once had a teammate..we were outside of a bar one night and this guy was wearing all white like he was prime Al Davis on Sunday. Smh
He tripped and fell and actually hit the front passenger side wheel of this parked car that couldn't even defend itself.
It almost sounded like a gun or like somebody got slapped really fuckin hard..my other teammates and myself were lookin around like " who hit you, bro? "..you know, looking to help him out.
Dude's whole right side was black when we helped him up, people just laughin. Smh
The grit and dirt from the tire..his all-white Nike Air Max, the right side of the right shoe was just black, we laugh about that shit to this day.
And he still went into the club and did pretty well

yikes, Ryu was rolling, but looks like he just hung a change up right down Broadway and it went a long long way.

Do they have a stadium gun? I'm curious to know what Ryu is throwing. Looked awesome so far, only made two mistakes, but has paid greatly for both.

Could tell that Ryu was wearing there a bit at the end. Some hard contact, but a couple of nice plays in the field by Puig and Forsythe. Really want to hear what his velocity was. He looks good, needs to locate a bit lower in the zone and more of a feel for the secondary will come. 5 IP, 5 H(One was a bullshit bunt over AGON's head), 4 K 3 ER's

I'm curious too. My best guess from watching is that he was living mostly in the mid-upper 80's, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear he cracked 90 with a few pitches. He definitely looked effective.

I was looking for a gun in the stands as they sometimes have scouts at these things, but didn't see one. His fastball is not what hurt him today, it was the hangers he left right down the middle.

Yikes, SVS just lined one hard off the hand of the Sox pitcher and he had to come out.

i get what you're saying and try to be positive as possible because i am actually a pretty happy guy most of the time
the Doyers are all of our release from the real stuff that plagues us daily anymore
i can say for certain i don't want to get down to the end of the year and send kazmir out there in a must win game
i have zero confidence in him when he's throwing well let alone low 80s
after watching us get so close in 08. 09 and last year it just seems we are that one pitcher away and he's not the guy imo
i am rooting like hell for ryu and wood or mehcarthy to turn up and maybe fill that roll so i have hope
but watching van slyke strikeout and kike not be able to hit or field too well it seems like we can or could've done better there as well
i'm all in for the team just like every year and with all our money we can do better
it doesn't even really come down to that much money other than a starter worth a damn that can stay on the roster
it might just be me but i think thats the part that chafes guys who go through this year in year out
i'm rooting for every guy on the squad to do well and never wish for failure
puig aside i think we could have better pieces w those other guys

Anybody that's actually hoping or rooting for Puig to fail doesn't truly want Puig gone. If he continued down the path of struggling and embarrassing both himself and the org, he'd ultimately never have the desired trade value. Regardless, one the biggest reasons teams value depth is for the level of competition it breeds within an org and to get the most out of guys. And so considering that, I hate feeling like there are better/more reliable options in the org being stifled. Like right now..I hate that RF is just basically forked over to Puig ( a player they were an hour or two away from trading to MIL just months ago) when the OF could just as easily be a young crew of Trayce/Joc/Toles starting everyday and each doing what's expected of them in every facet of pro ball. Maybe both Trayce and Toles could use a few ABs in MiLB, but I'm thinking big picture here.

So yeah, realistic or not I'm hoping/rooting for solid Mondesi-like numbers from Puig this year and that he somewhat rebuilds his value..and that they then trade him off to the next city. Now, I don't know if hoping he's eventually traded qualifies as " hoping he fails ", but frankly perception is something that's irrelevant. Whatever the case, business is business..he gets traded, he brought it on himself. I just know that Puig's up for a new contract soon enough and given his track record I will be shocked..shocked..if LAD invests more loot in this type of mercurial talent that also displays sketchy behavior/habits particularly when they have plenty of other young OF options in the org. So I think they'll continue to look for more opportunities to rid themselves of the player no matter the fan support or if #Puigyourfriend
