I am excited for Bellinger to be up ASAP as well, but there is also no denying that AAA for a spell is pretty important for his development. He still has a good bit of swing and miss in his approach, but he has steadily improved on it over the last 1.5 seasons. I think having him make the jump too quickly will force him to stay with bad habits longer in season than one could improve on in the minors on a daily basis. These are big years for Bellinger, Verdugo and Calhoun.

    to be fair
    no one is replacing vin
no matter who they put in there, no matter how great, it wouldn't be the same
just grateful we we were lucky enough to have him for as long as we did
and happy he went out on his own terms

Checking out the box score for today's game when I ran across the name "Geltz."

Way too close to Goltz for my taste. A name which lives in infamy for old time Dodger fans.

No television today, but the game will be covered on Rockies radio. ST games on the radio by the other teams BLOW as the broadcasts are all about their own players and never anything about the other teams prospects. It is a an unexciting lineup anyway, but I still want to listen for Urias, Bellinger and Verdugo. Can't tell from the lineup picture cause TrueBlueLA has fucking terrible camera, but Calhoun may be on the card as well.
Rotation over the next few games,
    Kazmir Wed
    Kershaw Thurs
Hill & McCarthy Fri in Split squads

It sounds like they have not determined whether it will be a bullpen or a sim game. He is healthy, but they are taking it REALLY slow. If he is still not getting full extension. that would explain why they're reluctant to throw him out there.

Only went 1 and had a bullpen for the second. I may be mixing him up, but I believe he would have been out of the inning unscathed had Barnes caught a ball he lost in the sun.

I don't have access to a good box score right now to cite his #'s, but the Rockies announcers just said something along the lines of, "boy, this guy is good" in reference to..... Sierra.

If you look at the play by play it sounds like that is what happened. Blackmon was on 1st and LaMahieu grounded to 2nd......unless Blackmon is crazy fast the only that does not end up as a DP is if someone screws up.

Did anyone watch the 2nd? The play by play says H Ramirez homered but then it got taken away????? Was it ruled a foul or something?

That was a separate play that also happened that inning, but the Barnes play was a foul ball. I believe the play you are referring to was a ball that Utley did not field properly. Rox announcers said it looked like he tried to rush the play, but bobbled the ball and had to go to first.
