I'd invest in a Roku instead of running to the TV from your laptop.
Dedicated streaming devices with the MLB.TV app provide a much cleaner viewing experience imo...almost indistinguishable from the telecast.
In 2014 when SNLA first launched, I used the laptop > TV set up, and you could always tell something was slightly off. Not a tech guy but it seemed very computer-y

Yes, you will need to use a VPN service. MLB.TV blocks in-market games. You cannot watch the Dodgers or Anals on this service without changing your IP address.

Here's the service many here have used

I use "unlocator" to work around the blackouts.

But they are all pretty much the same.

hmmmm.... I think I shall invest in a Roku for my one TV without a device connected. Do you have the ultra or just the stick?

I park the laptop next to the TV and run with some stream and its good enough sorta HD quality for regular season baseball.

I was assured by the two people I spoke with at MLB TV I would be OK just running through my laptop. I might have to call them again, which I'm dreading.

Both people I spoke with were very hard to understand. I had to hang up on one of them. Repeated some info to her five times and she kept repeating back to me incorrectly. This was after waiting on the phone for 45 minutes.

Being a Ram in 49er territory I've got to stick with Direct for the Sunday Ticket.

    Appreciate all the advice.

Regular Roku 3. Perfect stream. If I ever officially cut the cord, I will get the Ultra which supports 4k.

I switched to Spectrum so I don't need to stream Dodger games anymore. Sometimes I take advantage of MLB.TV's promotional offers to stream rival games during September.

The Roku is a standalone product with no service fee or contract. You don't have to get rid of DirectTV.
It's a little box you hook up to your TV via HDMI and it has apps like Netflix, Hulu, MLB.TV, etc.
Since it's an actual streaming device, it's much cleaner than running off your laptop.
For a Roku, we're talking a one time investment of 80 bucks.

Kemp is handsome as ever and definitely in good shape. Hopefully he does well and the Anals or some AL team can pick him up

Already juggled the ball and made a horrible throw today though

No broadcast today, only Rangers radio. Dodgers apparently made a lot hard contact in the first. Missed what happened with Bellinger, but it sounds like it was a flyball DP. Wood started 0-2 then threw 8 straight balls :-/

Ohtani's first ab was an anticlimactic walk.

Sounds like Wood doesn't have a feel for his breaking pitches today and he is throwing a lot of them. Hernandez missed a ball that coulda ended the inning without a run.

bad inning defensively for Hernandez who threw the ball away on a double steal that costs the Dodgers another run. Wood struggled to throw strikes and they said his FB was working at 90 MPH which would not be ideal going forward.

Yimi Garcia strikes out the first batter he faces this spring, FB around 95. Followed by apparently nice plays by Jake Peter and Bellinger.

MLB.tv will work, but you might get blacked out during game time depending on where you are. On a laptop you can try viewing with a Chrome browser and installing a Chrome plugin called Hola. With Hola you can switch your location to another country, and that might skirt the blackout.

According to ESPN's box score, Liberatore had 5 k's in 1 1/3 innings and threw strikes on every single one of his 27 pitches today.
