Damn, Will Smith missed a line drive HR by a foot earlier, then just absolutely crushes one in the 5th. The club is said to be tinkering with his swing so he could elevate the ball more. Him figuring it out with the bat would cause some good problems to have.

Chargois making his first appearance with the club. Nice breaking pitch for a K, popout and another curve for a K

Mark Lowe doing his part in making sure he doesn't make an MLB roster out of camp.

That comes out pretty well since the pen is mightier than the sword.

Lowe seems very adept at throwing a FB right down the pipe. With little or no movement...
    Not the best plan.
    But that's just me.

    not surprised
have nothing to base it on (other than demeanor)
but grandal doesn't strike me as the hardest worker
kinda the antithesis of guys like taylor/turner
wouldn't surprise me at all if his best baseball was behind him

I think his best days are behind him. He probably already knows there are catchers behind him with more pop.

But, I don't mind Grandal being on the team in a backup mode.

I don't see him as the type who would be satisfied playing that role.

Not impressed by some of these BP arms trying to make the team. Haven't been paying close attention though so idk

I never thought he was the hardest of workers either since the same issues have plagued him since he broke in, but that article about his offseason made me think that he may have different approach this spring, but alas we are not that lucky.

Most of the guys that have sucked have been NRI's with little to no chance to make the roster. Like I mentioned earlier, there are a lot of guys in camp that are just there to fill space with the guys from last season getting extra rest after the long playoff run.

Yeah, it’s early Spring Training Ball. Lots of no names for now.

This is pure speculation, but I think Wilmer Font is going to make the roster (if for no other reason than he's out of options) while Stewart and Stripling go to OKC (maybe to start and stay stretched out for when they are inevitably needed).

Operating under the assumption of an 8-man bullpen, maybe something like this:

    Jansen
    Alexander
    Cingrani
    Koehler
    Baez (oh joy)
    Fields
Garcia (18 months out from TJ)
    Font

Garcia, Fields and Baez all having an option could leave them the opportunity to carry a 3rd Lefty or one of the NRIs.
