yeah, I asked Alana about this last year and she said that the numbers were so bad the year they did every broadcast that they decided not to do that many games again. Also, it isn't Gugg's fault, DirecTV refuses to even sit at the table for negotiations.

Taylor walks and then wild pitch to 2nd, steals third and a wild pitch gets him home.

Of course it's all their faults, but there was zero foresight by the Dodgers and TWC.
    DirectTV doesn't need the Dodgers.
Yes, many single-family residences can switch if Spectrum is available, but most businesses have DirectTV.
I think that's lost in the convo...the fact that you cannot go to a bar or restaurant in Southern California and watch the Dodgers. They've been stripped out of the community.
Look up from your drink and enjoy the Halos or ESPN classic.
Yes, die-hard fans can stream and use a VPN.
But what about channel surfers and casual fans?
    This is bad.

second time i've seen a two out hit played behind second and thrown to first without the runner from second trying to score
either we are lacking on fundamentals there or that third base coach continues to have his head up his ass

The Dodgers did what every team would do in that situation and I am sorry, but anyone that thinks differently is just wrong. TWC offered over TWO BILLION DOLLARS more than DirecTV. Nobody could have predicted that DTV would get their pussies tied in a such a knot over it that they took their ball and went home. TWC has tried multiple times to get DTV back to the table and they plain refuse. TWC even tried suing them just to get them to have to negotiate fairly and that didn't even get the job done. The Dodgers were out of the equation the second they signed the deal with TWC as they are not a party to that deal. This is on TWC and DirecTV working out a deal and one party doesn't give any shits about making it work, so I blame one party in this and that is DirecTV.

Font got absolutely worked and could not get out of the first inning. Cubs had mostly their regular lineup so not a very impressive look with a couple weeks left.

Yes, the Dodgers sold their channel's marketing and distribution rights to TWC (now Spectrum). So they cannot directly negotiate with providers. But they're still partially responsible for this mess and will ultimately have to find a way to fix it from the sidelines. Just as you say the Dodgers did the right thing, I think DiectTV is doing the right thing too. They don't need the Dodgers. Every restaurant and business has DirectTV for Sunday Ticket among other reasons, and they haven't lost enough home subscribers to care. They have no reason to negotiate. They're winning.

Are you talking about DirectTV Now?
It's fine for streaming live TV.
But it doesn't have the Dodger channel obviously and no DVR capabilities.

If you can't watch it then stream it.
You don't need it to be 4k to enjoy it.
There are plenty of streams on reddit.
Many things are legal but you probably should not do.
Many things are illegal and you probably should do.

Would you consider it illegal back in the day to buy power boosters to your antenna so you could pick up stations from other cities?
Would you consider it illegal to make a recording of a radio show that played cool music overnight that was never played during the waking hours?
Would you consider it illegal to laminate your SS card so you would not tear it part?

i think he was just lying to get me to sign up imagine that
i''m just not going to pay 200 a month for cable im done
a different guy was telling me he gets 140 channels w a roof antenna

Spectrum has exclusive rights and does not provide an app to watch games unless you are a Spectrum subscriber using your home wifi.

There are plenty of ways to cut cable/satellite (streaming, over-the-air, apps, subscriptions, etc) with plenty of devices to handle it (Roku, Firestick, AppleTV, etc) but there isn't a perfect alternative yet. Every option has drawbacks.

    Get an old laptop.
    Hide it behind your TV.
Attach HDMI cable from laptop to your TV.
Change the source on your TV.
Attach a wireless mouse to your laptop.
    Go to https://www.reddit.com/r/MLBStreams/
Click off two to three annoying preloading ads.
    Presto Chango Voila!
You got live HD Dodger game on your TV with lots of people live chatting on the side.
Don't forget to do some missionary work by dropping links to DSP in that chat box.

I like the idea of them switching to a majority of night games. It’s hard even when living in AZ to catch a game during the week (not that I even have much interest anymore since the price of spring training has become laughable).

My girlfriend is from Chicago so we were going to go to the Doyers/Cubs game Saturday until I found out the cheapest seat was $58 on StubHub. The crazy thing is that idiots will pay this price... for a game that doesn’t even matter!
