It's essentially playoff time, so it's time for him to tighten up..time for everybody to tighten up..imagine if Puig did that shit in the coming post season run and cost LAD a game.. Basically insubordination here concerning Puig, which is why Doc kept saying he couldn't trust him..he's out there just deciding to do his own shit in pivotal moments when LAD is trying to 1) capture the overall #1 seed and 2) just button up their shit overall. Puig obviously has a long history of insubordination, so pop the baby on his hand in public again for backsliding..he took it well enough last year and rebounded. Or, I don't know, maybe one day he'll just stop the action hero shit and stop putting his managers in positions where they have to discipline him. Amazing to think that he's in his 5th season as a pro and still getting in trouble for simple shit. I don't think it's fully going to sink in for him until they decide not re-sign him in a couple years, and hell, maybe not even then.

As far as the public shaming goes..they don't need to reinvent the wheel here because the blueprint is there..they did it last year and it worked out OK. I think it was earlier this year when Doc yanked him from the game for pimping a ball he thought was a HR, but wasn't..Doc got into him right there in the dugout. Now, obviously, it didn't completely take hold because here we are again, but the message landed close enough or about as close as you can expect with Puig. But I'm not sure that Puig doing this now is a blessing in disguise because I'm not sure if Puig is a guy that can truly tighten it all the way up and get it done in October. Wild is his natural state, and while that state has it's positives for him, of course it also has it's negatives, so I could see Doc/FO just being in a situation here with Puig where they're damned if they do and damned if they don't. Truly a roll of the dice in every scenario..which is why I think we all maintained that Puig needed to stay in the 8 spot and further away from the action. We shall see. But you said it..hopefully, he can just get his shit back together and hold it together for the rest of 2017. His OPS in September is troubling.

Puig is a Wyld Stallyn. If you let him he will take you to the promised land. But he also may drive you into a ditch. So every once in a while a good pull of the reigns should be enough to get him back on the right track.
