Utley took advantage while Howie was out with that injury to start the season.
That's no one's fault, just the name of the game...brah got Wally Pipp'd.
I imagine there's some discomfort for him, moving around from position to position, especially after all these years of being steady, but they were up front about the possibility of that happening, so I doubt he's pouting.
Too good a guy for that, just needs to adjust.
Depth breeds competition and the strongest survive.
Not to mention LAD was looking for a leadoff guy and Howie doesn't walk enough for that role IMO, not a patient enough hitter, not really his forte.
So Utley just broke the door down on both fronts, he's patient and the best leadoff option + he's probably the best base runner we have.
I'm not sure what they can get for Howie if it's a trade you want, he was just on the open market and nobody bit.
But yeah jobs do open up around the league and we'll see at the deadline.
I'd rather Howie get his shit together tho because he is one of the few on the team that have a history of handling 95+/live arms at a decent clip and it can't be stressed enough that heat is what you see in October.

    I like the analogy ... Wally Pipp/Lou Gehrig = Kendrick/Utley

It's a good one, I use it anytime somebody gets their spot taken, even in life.
My wife's brother in law hurt his back and had a long stay at the hospital, and some other dude swooped in and picked up her sister while he was down.
Brah got Wally Pipp'd Lol I told him too

Damn, so they got divorced, the old brother in law moved to Cincinnati, and the new guy gave your wife's sister the best sex of her life for the next 17 years? ... if I understood the story correct.

Was I the only one rooting for Bill Pullman in Sleepless in Seattle?

    Anyone?

Happy ending... he hooks up with Sandra Bullock in While You Were Sleeping, and anyone who has seen Sandra Bullock and Meg Ryan lately understand how huge a win that is. Suck it, Hanks.

What are we talking about again? :mirror:

Meg Ryan off the charts with grotesque plastic surgery...used to be really super cute. She makes Faye Dunaway look like fresh and perky.

Howie ain't dead, he's just sleeping.

I say he makes an impact by the AS game, or just after and is either a big part of the team or an important bargaining chip by year's end.

Yes...generally, time is less cruel to men than to women. Facially speaking, anyway.
    But, there's always McCauley Culkin.

Anyway, guy got to stick it to Mila Kunis in her early 20's. He's one of the greatest men who has ever lived in my eyes.
