Its about bringing back the mojo.

    Vs righties
    CF: Taylor
    SS: Seager
    3B: Turner
    1B: Bellinger
    RF: Puig
    LF: Ethier
    2B: Barnes
    C : Grandal
    DH: Adrian

    Vs lefties
    CF: Taylor
    SS: Seager
    3B: Turner
    1B: Bellinger
    C : Barnes
    2B: Logan
    LF: Kike
    RF: Puig
    DH: Grandal

Logan, Kike, Utley, Adrian, Joc are the bench players.

Kershaw, Yu, Wood are the principle starters.
Hill, Ryu are the 4th starters/emergency/long relief guys.
Jansen, Morrow, Watson, Maeda, Buehler, Baez, Cingrani are the relievers.

Does the WC game count as its own round? So we could have a weird 25 man roster with 9 pitchers and 16 position players?

Here's my crack at it... I think they go 11 man rotation, 14 position players.

    the no-doubters:

Grandal, Barnes, Bellinger, Forysthe, Utley, Seager, Turner, Granderson, Taylor, Puig, Enrique

That leaves 3 spots here. I think Farmer gets one so they can use Grandal/Barnes more easily (they did this last year)... The other two I think goes to Ethier and Joc. Adrian gets left out because they can't trust his injury. Joc gets on because he has the most upside left out of the other options and can play CF

    Pitcher no-doubters:

    Kershaw, Darvish, Hill, Wood

    Jansen, Morrow, Watson, Avilan

That leaves 3 spots in the bullpen. I think this depends a bit on the matchup and how the left handed bats are, but a gun to my head, I'll say Cingrani, Stripling, and Buehler.

Fields and Baez are next tier after that, and I can easily see them going instead of the other two. Just right now, Stripling has pitched great in the second half and Buehler has the most upside. I don't see Maeda/Ryu going in the bullpen because of the warm up routine.

    agreed
fields and baez are essentially the same pitcher
electric arms but no sense of pitch selection/location
i personally want them nowhere near our postseason rosters

    Maybe it was Avilan then.
One of those guys who I never like but when I see the stats, hey they are half decent.

And by half decent stats I mean they suck against one type of hitter and are good against a different type.

One guy I know will be there...Dave Roberts.

Hacked Dave's computer last night, all I had to do was bypass the mainframe. This is what he had in his "playoffs" folder.

    CF - Granderson
    SS - Granderson
    3B - Granderson
    1B - Granderson
    C - Granderson
    2B - Forsythe
    LF - Granderson
    RF - Granderson
    P - Baez

    Seems solid on paper. Genius.

I'm thinking that the FO, no matter how overpraised, taint licked and failed player justified they are, aren't the ones making out the lineup every night via
" orders" to Dave. They may have had a discussion at the the 91-36 juncture, about trying to see who looks a possibility in the post out of the multitude.
    But, I believe it's Dave.
And I also believe that the bally- hooed "depth" is a nifty weapon when players go down and the rest of the team is raking.
But when it is stubbornly and relentlessly displayed during the quicksand of a horrendous losing streak, it can dangerously dilute positive results. There is mediocrity abound within those vast reserves/roster.
Tinkering by, let's call a spade a spade, a pretty average manager, can be the death knell for a team. Maybe just a glitch, but what a fucking monster glitch if so...
But we're in the post, definitely now...and maybe it is out of his system, like a kidney stone. And just like a kidney stone, it hurt like beyond the worst pain.
Tonight, this Darvish, with even just a decent outing, can mean so damn much, imo.
Wondering if the Dodgers can real off "two straight" is such an ugly reminder of what we have become in the minds of others, given the past months of how we did play once.

    Yeah BZ I'm in agreement

Tinkering for tinkerings sake rarely produces anything good.
DBB took that to a low art form

We had a tight team.. here's to hoping we can locate that team again

    we will, not a problem
you gotta tinker when there is time to do it
lots of teams are great in the season like we have been in the past
only to falter in the post because they did not take the time to tinker
we should know exactly what we have going into hte playoffs
in the meantime you gotta see if guys like Baez are going to pull themselves out of the psychological hole they are in and be solid contributors or if not if they have to be left off the playoff roster.
in the past you just roll with Baez because there was no time to really check other options or even to exorcise whatever demons are plaguing the dude.

    I'm OK with tinkering
so long as you don't lose the recipe entirely

    I'm OK with Baez
much more so than Forsythe, Grandy and Kike

If we use Kike and Forsythe exclusively vs lefties they still serve a purpose.
Grandy only serves as a pinch hitter vs righties in hopes he hits a HR.
