Twains, we probably passed each other on some late night/early mornings. Either that or shared some Casa Vega margaritas.

Kit Kraft used to sell potassium nitrate and sulfer! I'd always go there for all my household needs! :D:D:D

DuPars is still there, although the one in Encino became a Jerry's. There's also one in TO.

Here's one: The Smoke House Restaurant at Balboa and Ventura.

Of course, there's this old joint in Burbank. I'm glad it's still up and running, though surprised they are now a McDonald's operating under that shell. Bob's Big Boys are in fact Big Macs.

^ Yeah, nothing like sitting in the same booth the Beatles once sat in.

    So many faves...

Paty's is great. I might have to come back to LA just to sit outside and order an omelette.

How about the ATV cars you could take on the dirt track on the other side of Balboa and Ventura, where the condos are now. I think they called them Scramblers! They had a mud hole and everything! There was also an indoor ice skating rink in Tarzana where the Carrows is. I grew up in Encino Hills and we saw deer walking down the street on a regular basis. Another was Pepe's Cartland at Balboa and Roscoe. I think they moved somewhere else since, or Busch Gardens monorail ride through the brewery and the amusement park there?

I remember Busch Gardens - a boat ride through the flamingos. A strange thing to experience in the SF Valley.

My grandfather lived near Pickwick in Burbank - Bowling, Ice skating and swimming pool. He also kept horses in a stable behind his house. We used to ride the trails in Griffith Park - as a chore to exercise the beasts. I was riding very young. People are always surprised to find out about the horse community in the LA area.

    Is Dan's gone?

There was a (hole in the wall) place on Van Nuys Bl by Oxnard called Philadelphia Sandwiches that made cheesesteaks 10X better than that shithole Pat's in Philly. Anyone else ever try them?

OH, how about the video arcade called 20Grand Palace by Winnetka and Ventura, where they filmed War Games?

Magic Mountain - I was there during the grand opening of the Colossus, billed as the greatest roller coaster in the world.

I am happy to see Dr. Hogly Wogly's Tyler Texas BBQ is still thriving on Sepulveda Blvd in Reseda.
