Have you seen how terrible our pitchers are at holding runners? Especially the relievers? That's not a good metric to judge a catcher. I really don't know what you're arguing anymore. EVERYTHING in baseball is "if". Nothing is guaranteed in this game.
Relax he's already admitted to being in one of those arguing for the sake of arguing moods... probably forgot his meds or something
Look, Grandal is good, I'm just not ready to call him a "top 5 in the game" yet. If you want to play the "so far this year, in xxx PA's" card, then so be it. When he sustains that performance over a period of time, then I'll give him his accolades and admit to being a horse's ass. Okie dokie?
Grandal is really underrated in regards to his arm as the team was doing a horrid job early in the season holding on to runners. I was talking to one of the Digest guys about it the other day and he felt too that he has gotten a bad rap. The team also said they were working on things with him to improve his catch and throw to speed it up. I think that both these issues have been addressed and improved on significantly. I've be very impressed by Grandal behind the plate and think we are going to look back on the Kemp deal quite fondly.
