I'm sure when Adrian gets "healthy", he'll be back for another shot at 1B. Dave said so.

My concern is he won't be productive. In that case, what do the Dodgers do? Is he one of the best 9 guys we can throw out there?

Nope, unless as a desperate pinch hitter.

They need to be smart and immediately relegate him to the bench so he's 100% for the few at bats he does take. If they do that, it's conceivable to me that he could have some huge at bats late in games.

Better team without him in my opinion.

    not just health
father time has caught up with him
his power dropped significantly last year
and then he disappeared for the most part in sept/oct
even worse this year and now suddenly it's due to injury?
    not buying it

    ideally you sit his ass
but knowing how roberts caters to veterans...
he is not one of the best 9... and arguably the 4th choice at 1b offensively
pretty much agree with @jpldodgers... the team is rolling and better without his fat ass fucking up the mojo
    fuck him
let him sell churros, street corn outside the stadium or play in one of the mariachi bands
    racist

He's going to be a cheerleader in the dugout until the end of is contract, just like Ethier is now.

Hello Insurance, which also means, hello future rate increase to GuGGs after claiming 40 mil for these latest two guys (and maybe 60+ if they got something for CC) and more expensive beer at the stadium.

Keep him on ice and resting his sore back.
In an important spot during the playoffs he takes two needles to the back and comes in to pinch hit a Gibson style homer.
    Goes back on ice.
    Totally worth his salary.

Hopefully he does a better job than this guy who assaulted Rich Hill.

he's diminished but to say he's done is a stretch imo
he has some big hits left in that bat

If the choice has to be between Mike Freeman and Adrian as a pinch hitter, I guess I take Adrian.

He's basically a platoon player anyway. Also, the slowest motherfucker on the planet. If he doesn't come back and crush, he's absolutely not worth it.

Our best defense is with him at 1st with Cody playing left. His hitting is in decline no doubt but I'd rather have him in a clutch situation in a pressure filled post-season. Back injuries are no joke for a baseball player because you need everything working to hit a ball far and the slightest pain will affect a swing, much like Golf. To answer the question you'd have to see how his rehab goes to determine how much of a factor he'll eventually be but I'm not counting him out.
