Dumb fuck Jon Jones simply does not know when to STFU. When you are being recorded being given a ticket you miiiiiiight want to shut your trap.. but no not the esteemed Mr. Jones. The hits keep coming for former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, who was arrested today by police in Albuquerque, N.M., five days after being cited on multiple traffic charges. Online arrest records show Jones was arrested earlier today and booked at the Metropolitan Detention Center on a charge of violating his probation. TMZwas first to report the news of Jones’ arrest. Jones, 28, was pulled over in downtown Albuquerque this past Thursday and cited for drag racing, exhibition driving, weaving, failing to properly display his license plate, and modifying his exhaust pipe, Albuquerque police told MMAjunkie. A bodycam video of Jones’ traffic stop, seen in the video above, shows a heated confrontation between the arresting officer and Jones, who denied drag racing and cursed at the police officer. Jones was given up to 18 months supervised probation stemming from a hit-and-run accident this past April that left a pregnant woman with a broken arm. Under the terms of his probation, he was forbidden from breaking any laws. Despite his most recent infraction, which comes one month after another traffic stop that led to three traffic citations, a spokesperson for the Albuquerque district attorney’s office expressed surprise at the arrest. “I didn’t expect that,” said Phil Sisneros. Earlier today, Sisneros told MMAjunkie that he expected Jones’ recent traffic case to move through the courts before the office and the fighter’s probation officer jointly decided whether or not a violation had occurred. Tanner Tixier, a spokesperson for the Albuquerque police, said he wasn’t aware of Jones’ arrest today until very recently and said the arrest was not carried out by his department. Jones (21-1 MMA, 15-1 UFC) currently is scheduled to face light heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier (17-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) in the headliner of UFC 197, which takes place April 23 at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena with a main card on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. The UFC released a statement to MMAjunkie following news of Jones’ arrest. “UFC is aware that Jon Jones turned himself into the Albuquerque Police Department this morning for a potential probation violation stemming from a traffic stop last week,” the statement read. “UFC has been in touch with Jones’ legal team and will have no further comment until the organization has had appropriate time to gather necessary information.” A representative from Cormier’s PR firm, Zinkin Sports, said the champion had no comment: “At this point in time, ‘DC’ has no comment. He is 100 percent focused on training and preparing for his upcoming fight,” the rep told MMAjunkie. Stay tuned to MMAjunkie for more on the story of this idiot as it develops.
