    Puig is such a misunderstood dude.
    You can tell the guy is all heart.
    Jose Fernandez will be sorely missed by a lot of players and a nation of cubanos. Its sounding like the dude was a great person that deeply touched those around him.

    Took me all day to process this. Why? Today was supposed to be a happy day in this sport and a real talent and even better person gets taken away at such a young age. I still can't get over this. Sad.

    As I read all were sober
    None wore life vests
    It was 3AM
    So it was dark as it gets
    I saw the pic of the boat on the jetty

    As far as I could tell
    They simply ran into the rock jetty
    At full speed in the middle of the night

    and the reports are wrong about it being a speed boat
    it has a center console meaning its a fishing boat
    not that any of that matters

    Looks like they wanted an early jump on fishing....that's what fishing life is about. But that bay is dangerous late at night, early morning. It has cruise ships and cargo ships in that channel.

    I hope it wasn't one of those situations where they went out on a whim....no plan, no message....just went out.

    No life vests. I dunno. It's not a blame issue.....it's an issue of "there before the grace of God, go I".

    Idk if the actual cause of death was drowning or being killed by the rocks or boat body itself, but wearing a life vest is not an option, it is an imperative.
    No one seeks to admonish Jose and his friends at this time, but it is what it is...and it is not an option.
