I like kemp....always have ever since his debut in 06. My problem with him is his attitude and effort. It started back before spring training when his agent started running his mouth. He should have told his agent to keep his mouth shut if he didn't feel the same way. Then in spring training when he made comments about not being a 4th outfielder. This guy is making 20 mil a year and is considered the face of the franchise yet he feels he needs to defend himself and his playing time before the season even starts? Now he's not giving full effort and pouting on the bench. You don't sit for 5 straight games "learning" left field...I'm sorry and if people buy that they believe everything they read. I understand he wants to play but if you are splitting time after the manager said you were the everyday starting CF there's an issue. I hope after today he gets going because the more he and hanley hit the much better this team will be offensively. If he wants to be a diva and divide a clubhouse he can do it in someone's else's uni as far as I'm concerned.
Kemp does act like a diva... consistent apathetic effort... routine lazy AB's and zero legs for CF... fucker should be happy to play ANY games in the OF with his worthless level of effort...
"I just want to play, man" I just want you to hit, not strikeout every third AB and catch a fly ball. It's nice to want.
It flies in the face of all the criticism of Matt that he was lazy, not putting forth effort and yet he says he wants to play and he's criticized even ostracized. He came out of it a little bit yesterday and yet very little or no mention of that success in the thread.
true i'm still apprehensive with kemp because he still has bad at bats where he chases pitches out of the zone
A-Gon isn't immune to trying to hit that pitch either. HOPEFULLY he'll start laying off of it and soon.
Agon chases that down and away pitch so much. I just think he's been more consistent than Kemp has. Gonzales has that one pitch, but Kemp seems to chase everything. He's pressing trying to prove he's still 2011 Matt Kemp instead of just going out there and having good at bats.
