Don't like the way they've been trending as far as ending up with the 2nd best lotto odds goes, and there are like 4 winnable games coming up..2 against Minnesota, 1- SAC, and 1- Pelicans.
Randle, DLo, Ingram and Clarkson have had career highs in points and Zu became the youngest LAL to do 20/10 all in the last week and half, and then Ingram has been playing very well for a while now in general.
It looks as if Randle got the memo the last couple games, averaging 5 pts, but now they need PHX to actually win a game so it's probably too late. Smh
They finally just deactivated Ingram and labeled it tendinitis..need to just sit some of these other guys down too.
The Eastern Conference is so trash..the " 5th seed " Hawks just snapped a 7 game losing streak against PHX, and the Hawks are actually being outscored by 1.5ppg on the season. Smh

Boy, when Zu went down I had Bynum flashbacks.
Just an ankle sprain, will not return tonight.
Which reminds me, hopefully none of Zu's teammates will be crashing into his knees in the future ala Kobe/Lamar w/Bynum.
Bynum would be dominating the league right now if not for that BS..man, you just look back at all the shit that's happened to LAL and it's like they've been snakebitten to a degree even as they won titles.

So Mike Wilbon says he thinks LAL will find a good trade for DLo this off-season, which is not to be taken lightly since he's very close to Magic.
Won't be shocked if DLo ends up in Indy or CHI.
Also, looks like Chicago is ready to part w/Jimmy Butler as well, http://nba.nbcsports.com/2017/03/30/rumor-bulls-ready-to-move-on-from-jimmy-butler-this-summer/
Wish Kupchak were still around to work the trade tho..seemingly always got stars for less in trades.
Get the feeling that Magic could cave for his buddy Bird and give up more than he needs to for George.
Zu should be untouchable, so not worried there..too hard to find 7+footers with those skills.
But I am worried for Ingram being that he obviously plays George's position.
Luke, who's been very involved in personnel decisions, will more than likely stamp his feet for Randle to stay, won't wanna lose his Draymond-ish guy and that makes sense, Randle does too much and is a perfect fit w/Zu.
Hate to say it, but I could see Ingram going with DLo to Indy along with probably the 1st round pick that they got from the Rockets.
Just hopefully Magic/Pelinka play the negotiating game well enough to send Mozgov or Deng along with them.
A Lonzo/Young/George/Randle/Zu starting lineup has a star and 3 youngsters with star potential, so not too bad.
Would just have to figure out the bench, but if Clarkson sticks then that'll take care of 6th man at least and Nance the 7th.

Magic johnson has had a charmed life and certainly made my young life better
used to fall asleep thinking about him driving and dishing instead of counting sheep
but i'm not convinced he has anything close to the shrewd negotiating skills required for running a team
and can easily see him thinking he "has a feeling" or people don't see what he sees
it could be exactly what we need or an epic disaster
its not something i'm hoping for but i kind of think the chances of it being awful for 10 years are high
just don't think this is his best fit as an ex player/ investor/ businessman but i'm really hoping i'm wrong
losing my feeling for the nba altogether anyway so not sure how much it matters to me personally
not a lot of intrigue in a league where maybe 3 or 4 teams have any chance of winning it all and everyone knows it

The league has always been dominated by 3 to 4 teams, even in the 80's..LAL's just not one of them in this particular window, so it's tough.
The one thing that gives me hope for Magic is that this league is actually the kind of up and down, all out scoring league that he played in back in the 80's..only difference is of course more 3's are going up and less tough fouls are being dished out.
It's a vast difference from the extra slow pace of the 90's, which he of course missed most of.
If Magic knows anything it's pace of play and how to make sure the big man is incorporated.
I'm not even sure if Lonzo is gonna be Magic's target..I mean I could see him targeting Josh Jackson too, wouldn't be a shocker is Magic leaned toward another 6'8"/6'9" kid with the ability to play the PG position, so it'll be interesting.
But yeah, I'm with you in the trade negotiating aspect when it comes to Magic..hopefully Pelinka can be strong there and help out..they had Luke and Ryan West ( Jerry's boy) also working the phones for trades at the deadline, so maybe they're gonna attack trades as a team?
Not sure because Pelinka was still handling his business away from LAL at the time, so maybe that factored into operations at that point.
As for the 3rd phase of adding personnel, free agency, of all the phases I think Magic could be best suited for that..he's a salesman for sure.
But he's out there scouting at the tourney, so he's trying...same can't be said for Phil in NY. Lol
Magic was scouting at the tourney during Shaq's statue ceremony...Phil was at the ceremony.

LAL has shut Zu down for the season
Also sent defensive guy Nwaba down to the D-league for the D-League playoffs

used to be a die hard laker fan
went to 10-20 games a year, and didn't miss a game on tv
now i couldn't name the entire roster
i found myself asking how did this happen?
the move to staples, the loss of chick?
still not sure but that's where i'm at

in the 80s it was more competitive
i mean things are what they are and the good ole days always seem better
but i recall those playoff series w dallas, utah, san antonio, portland, houston, denver, phoenix being far more competitive
the east was only a couple of teams w boston, philly and milwaukee? being in the mix iirc
these days it just whoever is loaded up w the stars and we all know its going to come down to GS and mebron before the season even starts
not sure how to correct it exactly but its just boring and i feel it would be even if durant, mebron and a bunch of guys played for the Lakers
i mean thats what the goal is at this point
and a full 20 teams have exactly zero chance of being in the finals

It was more competitive back then in the sense that guys weren't trying to team up together through free agency because free agency wasn't really a big thing back then.
But you could pretty much pencil in the Lakers/Celtics/Sixers/Pistons into the Finals every year in the 80's..stacked teams.
When the Lakers didn't make the Finals in the 80's the world would pretty stop and say " what? "
There are competitive series in this era..we just saw two teams lose 3-1 series leads in last year's playoffs..the Mavs upset LeBron/Miami and the 2011 Lakers in the same year, and on and so forth.
The competitiveness of this era gets a bad rep because of guys teaming up, but Memphis cracked San Antonio's head a few years ago in the playoffs as well and the Rockets came back and upset the Clips a couple years back.
It's really not all that different..you can sorta pencil teams in today just like you could back then.
And then of course the 90's were largely dominated by 1 team.

Early game for LAL today VS LAC, starting in 5
This one could be uuuuugly..Clips scored 133 pts on the Wiz, and 124 pts on the Suns in their last 2 games

    lol was thinking that too
    loved kobe
but it was sad watching him finishing career on losing teams
the magic/kareem/worthy years were my favorite
and the west/wilt shaq/kobe/phil teams were right up there
i followed them all the lean years too
but i just somehow lost interest the past couple seasons

Well, LAL beats Memphis, so that wraps it up
No way PHX wins 2 games, hell, looking at their schedule they may not win 1
LAL locked into the 3rd best odds as far I see it, gotdamnit
Trade DLo just for winning this game.

Should be a quick no thanks from the FO on flash in the pan Biyombo..Tarik Black is cheaper, outplayed Biyombo this year, and Black actually hits his free throws.
But if ORL truly likes Deng I think attaching draft compensation should be an option for sure being that LAL obviously already has a core of youngsters and at some point you just have too many kids on the team anyway and cap space for vets is a tad more important.
Taking back DJ Augustine from ORL would make more sense, but if they deal for Paul George as well who knows what the roster looks like after that sort of deal.
Deng and LAL's 1st round pick from Houston for Augustine and CJ Watson

Lol Young shut down for the year..now LAL is sitting DLo tonight.
Too little too late, MFs..should've been in super-tank mode before that win VS Memphis.
Sit DLo against the Spurs like you had a chance anyway Smh
