I'm not sure I'd take Melo for free.
    His contract is an albatross.
He's about to be 33 years old
He's not good enough to make you a championship contender...or even a playoff team
And he's a ball stopping cancer that will poison the young guys.

Didn't really, battled the injury bug late in HS and early @ a JC, then got an opp to play overseas
Got a couple letters from Tark, which of course was cool

The need for another 2-way talent could be lessened if..

According to Mitch Lawrence of Sporting News, it was never secret that George eventually wanted to land with the Lakers:
He’s never made his long-term intentions a secret within the Pacers’ locker room, according to former teammates. He wants to wear the purple and gold. So it’s no surprise that Johnson will probably pursue George and set out to build a title team around him, according to multiple sources who have known Johnson over the years.

Still, the more 2-way talent LAL can bring in, the better.
Should just as soon try to have all 3 of George/Ingram/Jackson.
They can all handle the ball and defend both backcourt spots.
Length/athletic defenders, still near the top in terms of priorities for championship teams.

I want in this story too. I met the great Tark once.
A GF at the time was invited to a wedding of one of her friends/coworkers. She was Tarks niece or something. He was very pleasant.
We had a small conversation. None of us mentioned anything to do with basketball.
Which is the weird type of shit I take pride in.
    We talked about cake instead.

Rob Pelinka called Ivica Zubac "a very, very promising player” & "someone we consider to be one of the pillars of the future.” (on ESPNLA)

    lol
I only got stupid the first few times I smoked weed and had to go buy my medicine at the local indian grocer.
I get there after hotboxing in the car with some cousins for an hour only to see that my regular americanized hindu has been replaced by some
sikh looking dude who looks like he has a scimitar tucked behind his big orange towelhat and who knows what behind that giant but awesome mustache that winds around like that one decent ride Knotts Berry farm had in the 90's.
I could not contain my shit looking and listening to this dude talk. And everything in the store seemed like a double entendre.
My face was frozen in laughter like the joker, the whole time im in there trying to buy my fiber and ayurvedic stuff.
The dude says to me something about ayurvedic and i answer no im not vedic but areyouvedic?
At the moment i thought it was a hilarious play on words. I forget the dude would most likely have no idea what i was saying.
We continued like this for a few moments until my lamb curry was ready.
My newphews start talking shit about how it looks like shit. Even the color is of shit and the little pieces of lamb look like shit clumps.
    But it was soo tasty.
    And they loved the naan.

Other than that i dont get baked, no matter how much I smoke or vape. It sucks kinda.
Of course if I eat a ton of raw weed buds and mix it in my mouth with honey and olive oil and chew it for a few minutes before swallowing and then repeat that the next morning and the morning after that for a couple weeks... you dont want to know how that is.
I have never done anything strong knowingly in my life, but i swear i was not of this world during that summer. I was riding on top of mountains and walking on top of tree tops both figuratively and sometimes literally.
I did not have to smoke during that time. I could not have a conversation about mundane shit. I could not talk Lakers or Dodgers or politics or any of this stuff.
What i remember the most from that time is people coming to try and talk to me but they couldnt. So they would talk and i would listen.
And the only words I remember telling people over and over is... 'you have a lot of problems'.

At that time I had not yet known the bud. I was in my early twenties and did not smoke till thirties.
But I drank all their expensive hooch!
    Some Phoenix drink.
You know what phoenix drink is?
Its Fine Water spelled in old Irish.
    AKA Whiskey.

Tark had great assistants at UNLV.

Never had a staff like that in Fresno. His son Danny (part of his Fresno staff) was busted buying cocktails for a player in his first couple of months on the job.

    Sam Vecenie on Josh Jackson-

“Sometimes he’ll get bored and you’ll see him take a play or two off, but for the most part you’re talking about a high-motor, super competitive kid,” an NBA scouting director told VICE Sports. “Put it this way: Josh Jackson never would have gotten punched by De’Aaron Fox the way Lonzo (Ball) did [during Kentucky’s victory over UCLA in the NCAA Tournament]. It’s not in his DNA. He wouldn’t let it happen.”

Vecenie pointed out that Jackson was the only freshman wing to put up a 16-point, seven-rebound, three-assist, 1.5 steals per game line. And after looking at the importance of rhythm to Jackson’s shooting game, another NBA executive told Vecenie that Jackson had excellent potential as a defender.

“Obviously, I don’t think Jackson will be as good as Kawhi (Leonard), but I think teams will be able to utilize him similarly to how the Spurs utilize Kawhi on defense,” the executive said. “You just throw him onto the opposing team’s best perimeter player, and allow him to utilize his athleticism and disruptive ability. He wasn’t always great at Kansas, but in the NBA I think he’ll be able to use his athleticism much more in the open space on that end.”

    --------------------------------------------------------

The " not as good as Kawhi " take made me smile..Kawhi wasn't even as good as Kawhi.
Meaning, this guy Kawhi has improved so much since his last year of college, it´s really incredible.
Anyway, Jackson doesn't have Kawhi-length, but he is more athletic than Kawhi was..combine the athleticism with the 6'8" height/6'10" wingspan, still good size, and it all plays well enough on the perimeter along with the motor and just the will to make an impact defensively.
Edgy kid with some light baggage, but Magic needs to put his arms around him and mentor him, not shun him..still too young for all that.
Somebody´s gonna do just that and more than likely in the Top 3.

That "stress" was self induced for the most part.
