Bucks are no pushover. Not even in the least. Bucks win w/out Durant, and it is a series if he does play.

Lakers should not give max deals to players who are not max players if the max players don't sign.
If they have to go to a lower tier supporting cast types then they should sign players willing to take balloon contracts.
Boogie would be a great option as it would allow him the ability to earn more than he has been while getting prime exposure.
A lot of veteran centers will be FA this offseason and would be a good upgrade over Javale.
Deandre Jordan, Dewayne Dedmon, Paul Millsap or even Julius Randle could be open for a big chunk of the Lakers FA money for next year.
Getting two of those guys would really help the teams front court production and interior defense.
And a combo guard to backup Lonzo and finish tight games so Lonzo's FT problems aren't an issue.
Derrick Rose, Patrick Beverly, Darren Collison, Seth Curry types should be targets.

    PG: Lonzo, Beverly
    SG: Ingram, Curry
    SF: Reddish, LeBron
    PF: LeBron, Millsap
    C : Kuzma, Dedmon

That roster has two squads for LeBron to run with. A young run and gun squad and a veteran defensive lineup that can rain threes.
Then the team can sign Anthony Davis the following year and then wait for Ben Simmons and Giannis since the salary cap will be 120M by 2021.
LeBron will finish his contract out with the superduperteam by rich paul.

    PG: LeBron, Lonzo
    SG: Ingram, Lonzo
    SF: Simmons, Reddish
    PF: Giannis, Kuzma
    C: Davis, Kuzma

    ;)

If Iggy is seriously hurt that could sway things and maybe get it to a Game 6. From my POV, anyway.
Bucks will need a break or two like that..luckily for them, the Warriors are seemingly always at least a little shaky on the health side. If it's not Iggy, it's Steph. Why I just laugh when fans say they don't need Durant. The Warriors know why they recruited Durant in the 1st place.

But..this is still the Bucks' 1st ride together and I expect them to get schooled. Especially if they get out there and start trying to go 3 for 3 with the greatest shooting team ever.

I actually think the Raptors would have a good shot at winning more games than the Bucks in a series VS GSW. Styles make fights in the playoffs and the Bucks play a style that is just very familiar to the Warriors because they invented it. Been watching this game for 30+ years and experience has almost always been vital. Marc Gasol has seen the Warriors in the playoffs and had some success against them..Ibaka has seen the Warriors in the playoffs and had some success against them..obviously Kawhi is a champion and knows the stage. And then Toronto is a legitimate home court advantage. Think the Raptors could maybe get to a Game 6 easier than the Bucks. We're going to find out soon enough.

Some league executives believe the Lakers have given Vanderbilt’s Darius Garland a draft promise

    Silver Screen & Roll@LakersSBN
The Bulls reportedly see Lonzo Ball as an ideal fit next to Zach LaVine, Lauri Markkanen and Wendell Carter

A whole lot of smoke here. Chicago has been eyeing Zo for a while now. What if LAL could do something like Zo for the 7th overall pick plus maybe additional draft assets after they draft Garland? End up with Garland @ #4 and Reddish @ #7..both potentially going to N.O. along with Ingram for AD. Most expensive young assets cleared out, maximizing cap space. This way Griffin doesn't have to deal Zo/Lavar that'd rather go to a big market. Still obviously early, but either way it doesn't look like Garland is getting past #4

maybe a three team trade. But in reaction to the first tweet, a promise by the Lakers to anyone, especially this early in the process, seems unlikely.

Well, the Bucks fucked up. They're going to need all the rest they can get for GSW, but that Toronto home court advantage strikes again. And certainly double OT games are no bueno at this point in the season. The defense that I see the Warriors playing right now is serious and that's where Durant would certainly make GSW even better. The double teams that Giannis saw tonight, he'll absolutely see against GSW and even better executed. Bucks certainly have more fire power than anybody the Warriors have seen this year, but again, that fire power is inexperienced and it showed tonight.

You usually have to lose in this league before you win. That's the history. To win your 1st playoff series in the same year that you win your 1st championship..rarefied air. That's why I keep saying it's the Bucks' 1st ride together. A couple of those guys have been with Giannis over the years, losing in the 1st round. But this is the 1st real ride for this group. Deep ride [no homo].

This is good though. As much whining as I see about the Warriors just dominating and being guaranteed champs of the league..nice to see some you guys having confidence in the Bucks if/when they make the Finals. Although, I do think a beat down served up by the Warriors in Game 1 would have you guys abandoning ship. Lol Game 1 will probably be Game 7 intensity from the Warriors side. But 1st, let's see the Bucks finish up..need to end this in 5. I imagine Portland is done on the other side. Get the brooms out over there with Lillard hurt.

I wouldn't doubt either. Garland is Klutch and LAL needs a guard like him, that can control a game late and not be hack-a-Shaq'ed. Although, he could certainly be a part of a trade. If this thing in N.O. breaks the way it should, they agree to trade AD on draft night and that likely means they won't want to pay Holiday nor will he want to stay and be part of a rebuild. So then N.O. will need a PG..potentially Garland.

Plenty of experienced FA PGs that LAL could bring in to play next to LeBron..maybe Pat Beverley, maybe Rubio, potentially Darren Collison, etc. Could find help on the trade market as well.

Edit: Whatever happens, pray they don't sign miniature Kemba Walker to a max deal. He's a year and half, maybe 2 years away from being a bum. He's 30 next season. Fuck no.

Bulls definitely have reason to want to help the Lakers land AD. Keep AD out of NY.
AD lands in NY and the Bulls may as well just trade everybody that they have for future draft picks. Lol No reason to pay Lavine that money.
KD/AD and potentially Kyrie as well landing in NY just means bad news..for Milwaukee too

I'm not sure how tradeable Holiday is. He's a very good player, near all star level, but with that contract, how can his value be properly assessed in the trade market? The thing that makes me doubt the Lakers promising anyone, including Garland, is that they are probably shopping the pick. with AD the target. With that said, if they are, they shouldn't be promising anyone. It's also very early in the evaluation process, too.

The only people who can make promises for the Lakers organization and ring true is the Rambi. If anybody takes anybody else's word as truth besides the Rambi then they are retarded and I don't want them on the team.

You are correct. In a stand alone series the bucks definitely can compete and win.

The inexperience is not closing out when you should. They gotta win game 4 and finish it at home. Not saying they're gonna lose this series, but having a long and intense series is gonna blow their wad. They did it. They got there. And what you will have on the other side is a well rested, experienced, hungry and peaking golden state team that smells the threepeat.

    Prediction

    Golden State in 5 :D

I just hate the golden state dynasty. It kills me a bit inside. Maybe a reverse jinx is in order?

Holiday definitely has injury concerns, but worse contracts have been moved. If Julius opts into the final year of his contract there, they could attach him to Holiday and get them both moved in one deal..use the much cheaper Julius as a sweetener. Somebody's going to strike out in free agency and peruse the market for opportunities to make their team better..probably the Clippers. The Pels certainly won't have any use for Julius ( Zion lite) if they draft the actual Zion. Put it this way..would you sign 30 year old miniature Kemba Walker to a max deal or just trade for 29 yr old 2-way Holiday/25 yr old Julius? Holiday has 2 years left on his deal and then a player option to get what is likely his last contract. Mike Conley is 32 with one year left on his deal..if I'm the Grizz and I struggle to land top tier free agents, I'd jump on a Holiday/Julius package that sends Conley to a 3rd team. Or Conley just lands in N.O. for a season, until the trade deadline. There are ways. They may have to get creative, but there are ways. They may even think about stretch/waiving Holiday to cut cost. There are way for the Pels to rid themselves of Holiday and move on with a Garland.

As for Garland, there's also speculation that PHX may have promised him @ #6. But even if LAL is looking to trade the pick to the Pels, it's a trade that'll have to be completed in July, so LAL will be selecting for the Pels on draft night. Which would just mean that the Pels are actually locked in on Garland and that's potentially the reason LAL has promised him - if they've promised him.

Yeah, but it's breaking up after this season. The disease of " me ", as Riles put it. Durant looking for more individual cred and to prove more. I'd hate GSW more if they were beating the Lakers all these years.

Maybe the Bucks will regroup and go ahead and finish this in 5? I didn't like that performance last night coming off a dominant Game 2. Role players tend to fade on the road, but the Bucks' role players played well last night. Which makes me feel like they'll fade next game and this will be 2-2 heading back

Awwshit. Magic invading 1st Take today. Lmao

Media spin today is that Pelinka can't land stars..or that he'll stand in the way of stars signing. Because he's never landed stars for a team before.

Except Pelinka actually had his very own team before landing with the Lakers and Kobe, Harden and Durant were on it.

It's this fuckin Rambis bunch that worries me..and Jeanie. Not Pelinka

Magic out here talking about how he loves this franchise and always will, yet he's literally telling the world that Pelinka is a scumbag . That doesn't really bode well for the Lakers image or the ability to land free agents.

    Really nice job there, Magic.

Loved Magic the player (slightly homo).

Not too fond of Magic the coach, talk show host, front office slacker and now self-appointed spokesman for all things Laker.

At this point, I just really hope Magic just disappears for awhile. It’s been a sh*tshow since his face has appeared in the FO.
