still a mystery why that trade w Doncić ever happened

        • Anthony Davis (10-time All-Star)

        • Jaden Hardy

      • Dallas Mavericks receive:

Still not a fan of the NBA, but a buddy gave me his floor seats for last night's Kings game, and I got to watch Westbrook get his 208th career triple double. Love him or hate him, but that's a pretty impressive number.

So hard to believe that the Laker-Lebron debacle has dragged on this long. I hate how the team I used to love sold out like that. Not sure how much, if any, my interest level in the team will improve once he's gone, but until then it will remain at zero.

On paper, Adebayo has the second highest scoring game in NBA history. That is what it is, like it or not.

But here are the issues that I have with this:

    1. His team won in a blowout. He could have sat the whole fourth quarter and the Heat would have still won big. He clearly was kept in the game to pad his stats. Kobe's Lakers ended up beating Toronto by 18, but as I recall the Raptors were within striking distance throughout and it took a flurry of points at the end to push the margin that high. Toronto still "held" the Lakers to 122. Washington allowed 150 yesterday to Miami, proving that their defensive efforts were anemic.

    2. He's a center, and I always think that a player who has the size to dominate a defense in the paint will have an advantage over a perimeter player in recording a big game. I didn't watch last night to see how easy the buckets came, but I know Kobe's required a lot more of creating his own shots. Would Wilt have broken 100 if he wasn't a center? Doubtful.

    3. Kobe took 20 free throws, making 18. Wizards put Bam on the line 43 times, and he converted 36. So he had double the "FREE" throws that Kobe got.

    4. Kobe hit on 61% of his shots from the field - and that's while taking much lower-probability shots. Bam hit on 46.5% of his... not great, not terrible, but for a center having a historic night, it should have been MUCH higher. Wilt hit on 57% when he scored 100.

    5. Apparently Bam was at 77 with two minutes to go and the Heat started fouling intentionally to stop the clock, then clanking free throws when they were on the line, all in efforts to get Bam opportunities to surpass Kobe's tally. That's about as pathetic as it gets and does nothing to rebuild on my depleted respect for the NBA.

This is why I despise the NBA today. I heard about the intentional fouls last night. Adam Silver has totally allowed the bastardization of the game. 43 free throws, give me a break...

didn't know all that was going on
wonder how much nonsense was happening to feed Wilt in that 100pt game
if i'm not mistaken that was the final straw and the 3 second rule was implemented
so he was basically able to stand by the hoop w his hand up right?

    of course you're right
guess they just made the 3 second lane area larger among others

    1. Widening of the Lane (The Paint)
    • The lane was widened from 12 feet to 16 feet in 1964, during Chamberlain’s sixth NBA season.

    • This was done to keep dominant big men like Wilt farther from the basket and reduce their scoring and rebounding dominance.

    • Previously, the lane had been widened in 1951 to counter George Mikan; Chamberlain’s impact led to a second expansion.
    2. Offensive Goaltending Ban
    • The NBA introduced offensive goaltending rules to prevent players from touching the ball on its downward flight toward the basket.

    • Wilt would catch or dunk teammates’ high-arcing shots mid-air, so the rule was implemented to stop this.
    3. Free Throw Rule Change
    • Chamberlain famously dunked free throws by leaping from behind the line and slamming the ball through before landing.

    • The NBA banned this by requiring players to remain behind the free throw line until the ball hits the rim.
    4. Inbounding the Ball Over the Backboard
    • Teammates would lob the ball over the backboard for Wilt to catch and dunk during inbounds plays.

    • The NBA made it illegal to pass the ball over the backboard during inbounds to prevent this tactic.
    5, Sex With 10,000 women

    .
All women in the first 10 rows were fair game

These changes highlight how Chamberlain’s unprecedented size, athleticism, penis and creativity forced the NBA to adapt the game to maintain competitive balance.

    Everyone should be so lucky...
That when your modern Eurofancy primary weapon goes down...
You have a trusty American made AR-15 in reserve.
