The one I feel for is Judge. Class act and I think of him often when I drive through the sleepy little town he grew up in, Linden. He's going to relive that botched catch in his head every single day, at least until next season. Anyhow, I'm sure he'll redeem himself next year. So happy that he didn't sign with the Gnats, or any team in our division.
Mr. White gives us permission to start sucking our dicks. What a ride. There was no way the final inning would go 1-2-3, but Big Balls Buehler made it happen. Stuff of legends. Yes the Yankees handed the fifth inning to our boys on a silver platter, but the Dodgers took full advantage. Kike pulled a mini-Manny, veering off slightly to screen Jizz. Mookie busting it out of box on his dribbler to 1B. Teo with yet another clutch hit to tie it. Bullpen balls out after Flaherty shat his diaper. He was throwing shit. Bazooka should have gotten out unscathed. Got squeezed on strike three to Judge. Vesia's going to be the death of me. Never easy for him. Treinen with 2.1 innings of gut wrenching relief. Of course nothing says LA like a rioting downtown after a world championship. Dodgers win, let's go get a free TV. No worries. Kamala will raise bail money for them.
So happy he went out a champion. He went through hell (2 TJs and operations on both knees) to stay in the bigs.
so the little general was certainly sticking his mug out there front and center sucking all the air out of the stadium but the team behind him during the post game grandstand was shutting him down w chants of FREDDIE FREDDIE watching the guys hugging it out on the field i noticed Kike getting full blown BEAR hugs from every guy too now i'm sure everyone loves his personality and couple that w big game plays and he's a favorite but it looked like more than that to me i'll give davey a LOT of credit on how he handled the staff this year (it was him right?) but i'm sticking with Kike and Freddie or both seizing the reigns at the right time and reminding these guys who they are
Kudos to Friedman and Co, too. Ohtani and Yoshi signings stole the headlines, but we wouldn't have got here without Teoscar, IMO. Clutch and great for the clubhouse. Will be tough to see him on another roster next year, assuming the Dodgers don't open their pocketbook for him. And the mid season acquisitions of Flaherty, Kopech, and Edman didn't move the needle much for me at the time, but looking back they all were an integral part of the team down the stretch and in the post. Well done, AF.
Been there done that. Was w my kid at a Laker game walking in w my Horry jersey and a group of choose called out to us from their trunk. She's was shocked when I ended up taking a shot straight from the bottle
This is not to minimize any lionizing of the aforementioned David Roberts...BUT... the gf says she read that Buehler texted Roberts many times telling him that " I'm good...I'm ready if you need me"...Dave didn't initiate it. Walker did. Idk...but it kinda alters the taint licking, for me anyway. Come to think of it, it has some elements of the Kirk Gibson thing with Vinny and Tommy. Happy Halloween !
if you were a genius coach how would you want it to play out? where you look as it was your idea or where you look as if you let your player believe it was his idea which one do you believe would be more effective in the moment? if im the manager i dont want the player to think its my idea in fact i want the player to feel its all coming from him, from his will/instinct/heart/etc... specially with the type of player walker is if im the manager i want the media to give me the credit for not trying to take the credit for my players success i would play it probably somewhat similar to the davey/jar jar shtick and just say im so lucky for having such smart players because to me if im a manager the more you talk about how smart my players have played and how awesome they are at self motivating then the more my ego will be stroked imo the best managers manager in a way where the players only realize they were managed after the facts that is how you get the best outta them and how they get the best outta themselves unless you have stiff necked knuckle heads those you need to hook and crook then trade to the padres
He was warming up alongside Buehler for that 9th. Story is he had forearm tightness while warming up. He was gonna throw out his arm trying to win another title.
