Manfred is as much of a lying prick as any politician, pimp, or perp in the public sector. For five years, the roboumps were supposed to be two years away. Then it was definitely by 2026 at the latest. Now this headline ... https://thescore.com/mlb/news/3106749 So basically, we fans just have to watch 1 in 10 ball/strike calls be wrong until the next election cycle, right? We need Robespierre, man. Start executing some suits & don't stop until the blood flows to the sea.

One of my oldest friends (whom I grew up playing baseball with) and I had been talking about buying tickets for game 1 since the final out of the NLCS. We used to go to games multiple times a year with our dads and have always wanted to go to a World Series game together. Obviously 2020 was impossible with COVID, and in 2017 + 2018 we both were still young in our careers and definitely didn't have the means to spend money on tickets. When I saw $1,100 was for the absolute worst seat in the house, I texted him I probably couldn't make it happen. If we do it, I'd want decent seats that will probably cost us 2.5k or so. I'm planning a wedding for next May, and my fiancée and I are hopeful that at some point during next year we can finally buy a home. I just told him I don't even think I'd be able to enjoy the game knowing how much it cost to get a ticket (though I feel like once at the stadium I probably could forget about the money and enjoy myself). He replied with a screenshot that he bought us two tickets for game 1.
Reminds me of a time in Las Vegas when I was walking up to the bar to order a round when I came upon group of USC guys (weenie frat types). I told them "I know why you guys went to SC......you couldn't get into Fresno St." After a minute even the SC guys could see I was kidding. Nice guy that I am I bought them a round. Mostly daiquiris and pink ladies as I recall.
That's awesome! Also, buying a house the same year you get married sounds like you're ahead of the game, not behind. Congrats in advance!
I always think of this scene when I watch a WS game. It's so damn fantastic. Nicholson never had to do anything again after this in my opinion. Also ... I've used the phrase "henhouse shit" about 100 times to describe every boss I've had. So dead on. Somebody get me a weiner before I die. (Thats just for @irish to make it easier for him)
If you mean 'pretend not to cry like a baby & cover it up by leaping to your feet & pumping your fist like Taber" favorite? Yeah. Brutal. Amazing but brutal.
All bullshit postings aside... I'm in mild disbelief that tomorrow night, I'm going to watch the Dodgers in a World Series game in my home, beer in hand. With so many other fan bases long since eliminated ... it's a rather pleasant reality, you know? That is until Flaherty gives 5 in the first & I'm furious & miserable. Anyway ... happy home viewing, bitches. And for @DodgerLove ... have fun, brother. Lifetime memory. Best to you both.
well the ex just called and said she could get two reserved seats for 566 each and i declined one of the parents at our school is a photog that will be working the games and he knew someone selling them but no resale guess she will get one ticket for game 6 to sit w his kid and wife so good for her i'm excited for the team and all but it was nice seeing tsla up 20% today too must be old lol
Keep your money ... whatever happen on election day, we're gonna get nailed to a cross on field & food this winter. Enjoy the game on tv.
I'm certainly nervous for this one. Think a WS win over the Yankees would pretty much erase a lot of the postseason disappointment over the years Nobody could take anything from this WS like they did in 2020 and we'd have completed one of the hardest paths in recent memory. Could just be happy as hell and enjoy next season with no stress Truly feels like a coin flip. Scared shitless about our starting pitching but our lineup is capable of going off against anyone except Yu Darvish.
nothing to worry about flaherty gets shelled yamamoto doesn’t record an out buehler suffers a panic attack on the mound and every pitcher in the bullpen game gives up a run we get swept in embarrassing fashion we lose each of the next five years in the lds and dave roberts continues to haunt us as manager the entire time go dodgers
