That's just the guest house.
LAL moves to 3-0 behind the hitman
F*CK trading for Leonard. Let the Spurs stew and screw it up.
Wait for Leonard in FA.
He might go to the Clips, but I honestly dgaf anymore.
If he goes to the Clips, he is by definition a loser.
Wouldn’t want him if he is that much of a mental midget.
NBA Free Agent Rumors: Lakers not that interested in signing Carmelo Anthony
The Lakers were “expected to express interest in” Carmelo Anthony whenever the Oklahoma City Thunder forward came to a buyout agreement with the team. However, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times, it seems like L.A. might not actually be all that interested in bringing Melo in at all, even if he should become an NBA free agent soon.
A precise timetable for how quickly Anthony can secure his exit from Oklahoma City, most likely via buyout, is not yet clear. But, at this point, it would be a full-fledged surprise if he doesn’t wind up with the Rockets.
The Los Angeles Lakers have been widely mentioned as a chief rival to the Rockets once Anthony actually becomes a free agent, largely because the Lakers’ new face of the franchise is Melo’s close friend LeBron James. But it’s been suggested to me — strongly — that the Lakers’ interest is overstated.
Anthony could have made some sense for the Lakers about a week ago, but given that the team has signed Isaac Bonga and Svi Mykhailiuk to guaranteed contracts since then and brought their roster up to 14, giving the final spot to Anthony doesn’t seem to add up.
Anthony isn’t as bad of a player as his detractors believe, and on the minimum he could be a decent value add for a team in need of wings. But with only one spot left on their roster, the Lakers need a center — or someone who can masquerade as one — a lot more than they need Anthony, because going into the season with JaVale McGee, Ivica Zubac and Moe Wagner as the only options there is far from ideal.
Anthony’s free agency — whenever it starts — will be worth keeping an eye on, but for now, reporting and simply looking at the Lakers’ roster would seem to eliminate them as a real option to sign him.
lakers fanbase collective response...
"I don’t know what [the Lakers are] going to be as a team, because obviously it’s brand new and they don’t have their identity. But at the end of the day they’ll come together with LeBron leading the charge… It’s going to be fun for fans, playing (more) in the regular season and who knows in the playoffs. So the West obviously got stronger with LeBron but you’ve still got to beat us."
Good quote. The 1st line I really like but it doesn't seem to resonate to the "experts" who are shitting on our moves even before seeing what the team will be. The last line is a bit smug but they earned it for sure.
Unbelievably, Jerry West showing zero class by talking shit about the LeBron signing. Last guy I'd expect to say that about.... he's probably lobbying hard to make that Kawhi trade, saying to the SAS, "Let's get together and fuck those guys" Dickhead
i know what you're saying but the logo gets a pretty wide birth imo
he wasn't really saying anything that wasn't' true about his family and him wanting to come here
and he ended saying he wishes him the happiness he found playing in LA, just not when they play the flippers
besides the Lakers should have brought him back in the fold as a consultant or something
fuck letting him ink w the bench warmers, thats an embarrassment
True, but better would have been silence. Just surprised.
Comes off as sour grapes.
He's getting up there too and you know a flipper faithful reporter would love to put those kind of words in his mouth
they need to stick to covering Laker championship banners w promo photos
thats some lame shit right there
They really just need to move to Anaheim, or Ontario, or Bakersfield or something.
I give logo a pass.
We loved him in LA because he is competitive as hell, made LA champions as a player and a GM, and he left because the Buss's in a sense chose an outsider in Phil Jackson over a die hard Laker in West.
Not is fault, and if we were idolizing him as a Laker for that fiery spirit, no sense in knocking him for having that same spirit as a GM for another team.
Bone bruise for Moe Wagner, out the rest of summer league
Disaster averted for now
His agent and Rockets' execs were seen meeting in Vegas @ the SL a couple days ago, looks like that's where the most interest is coming from
Pelinka - " trying to outshoot the Warriors is a trap..need defense and toughness "
What myself and a couple others were saying about the 3pt shooting concerns. Defense and toughness have to be priorities. Magic knows, they all know. Those old Pistons used to give Magic's high scoring unit hell. They're gonna take LeBron off the ball some and let him conserve energy to defend.
Obviously, can't get as down and dirty as the Pistons used to get in the 80's, but they can still play a strong brand of D. Gotta turn it into football somewhat, take advantage of opportunities to run here and there, which Zo and Rondo can do, but mostly a controlled tempo. Occasional 3's, but not one after another.
