Whatever he is, and I agree as a " civilian" ( non- actor) he is a huge cunt, his acting ability, I believe, can handle Tommy's nuances and affects. Physically the guy can handle radical transformatioms (Raging Bull), but in his mid 80's, that would be a little suicidal. They'll do it another way, and I'm sure, asshole that he is most of the time, what you see we be believable on the screen.
Damn, he was in Rocky and Bullwinkle.
Sean Penn is a jerkoff, too. But he can act his ass off.

 

I posted this story before, but as geriatrics are want to do, here it is again. It's not my fault. So...
I'm at Shea and it's tie score and it's the EIGHTEENTH inning. Mets have a man on first...the batter hits a grounder through the IF over second base, and the OF is shallow, so Davis is right there to field it and throw it back in. The ball goes right under his glove, he turns around and looks at it rolling furher into CF. He turns around again, puts his head down and runs straight into the Dodger dugout.
I got back NJ about 2:00 AM, but we had a good laugh all the way back.
Never had very good luck at Shea with the Dodgers winning. Had better luck at Yankee Stadium at WS games.
EDIT: Sorry this is under the wrong " reply" photo...I wanted Willie Davis...that geriatric thing again! Dagnabbit!

 

No offense to Tommy, but is DeNiro going to wear a fat suit or have CGI fat?
He just doesn't look the part to me.

Idk...I never even had an inkling.
But as an example, of what they can do now, I give Colin Farrell as the Penguin. The guy is a kinda petit Irishman with fine features. They made him totally believable as the bad guy. I believe that was a fat suit and makeup...not CGI. But jaw dropping.
I still think Billy Bob in Sling Blade and Charlize Theron in Monster were incredible transformations using minimal gimmicks. Billy Bob may have had nothing. Just great acting and commitment. And no toupe, his real head. Idk.
We'll see.

 

True. They can handle the transformation.
I will say this...
If the trailer is just DiNiro doing the kurt bevacqua rant with no additional context, I'll go see the movie.
