Not sure if this has been posted on this site, but the former hot shot (thought to be untouchable by some) catching prospect Diego Cartaya was released by the Giants' organization about ten days ago.

Interesting Double Header stats for the big 3 at Great Lakes...

    Sirota
    3-5
    4 BBs
    4 Runs
    4 RBIs
    Double
    HR
    3 SBs

    Davalan
    1-5
    2 BBs
    2 Runs
    RBI
    2 SBs

    Quintero
    2-7
    3 BBs
    4 Runs
    RBI
    2 Doubles
    3 SBs
2 Outfield Assists (one in each game)

By the way, another player on the Loons has recently got my attention. He's not on any of the Dodgers top prospect lists, as far as I can tell, but that may change if he keeps up this production. He's 21-year old SS/2B Nico Perez, taken in the 2022 regular draft out of Puerto Rico. He put up decent numbers in '24 rookie ball and '25 single-A and was promoted to high-A this year where his numbers have really popped. He's hitting .340 with 10 doubles and 4 HRs, leading to a 1.012 OPS, second on the team behind only Sirota. Also has 14 steals while only caught twice. Will be interesting to watch and see if he progresses from here or if it's just a fluke.

    Ching-Hsien Ko today vs. Quakes:

    4-5, 2 HR, 3 RBI, 2 R

Ridiculous. I had to kneel watching this guy hit.

His first multi-homer game also secured the home run leader on the Tower Buzzers, ranked 4th in the California League.

Moreover, he not only tied the home run total from the 24-25 season, but he also surpassed it on his second homer of the game, bringing the total to six.

Emil Morales has looked like a big-time prospect so far this year. The 19-year-old shortstop is slashing .328/.397/.557 with 20 extra-base hits and a .954 OPS through his first 30 games at Single-A Ontario.

Morales has 14 doubles, 2 triples, 4 HR, and 28 RBIs. His ability to drive the ball to all fields has been a major reason why he's posted a .323 career MiLB average and .984 OPS across 165 games.

Since signing, Morales has done nothing but hit, starting by earning DSL MVP honors in 2024 before transitioning stateside in 2025, and making that look TOO easy. At just 19 years old, the offensive upside is enormous.

Morales in LA would be interesting... he's from the Canary Islands, which is Spain but it's more Moroccan than Spanish...

    Hope he pans out.

According to the scouting reports he plays it fine but is projected to "outgrow" the position as his body fills out and may become better suited for 3B.

Welcome back, Kellon Lindsey! The Dpdgers 1st pick of the 2024 draft has been on the IL and made his way back last night, and it didn't take him long to make an impact. Dude had a triple in his 1st at bat, then added another knock later in the game. Lindsey adds to the incredible talent on the Buzzers roster right now. I can't wait to watch him for the rest of the summer.

Tyler Fitzgerald is starting to find a rhythm with OKC.

The Dodgers traded for him recently for cash in return, and today he went 2-for-4 with a double, 2 runs scored, and a walk. After a tough start to the season, Fitzgerald is now hitting .250 with a .367 OBP and .500 SLG in May, and he’s already launched 2 HR with 9 RBI this month.

Since joining the Dodgers organization, the former Giants infielder has shown flashes of the power/speed combo that produced 21 MLB HR and 28 SB in his big league career.

Isaac Ayon's May has been incredible.

    5.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 10 K, 76 PC (67.1% SR)

According to the Tower Buzzers broadcast, his fastball hovered at around 95-97 mph, and one of his cutters was at 89 mph. At his best, his fastball can top out at 100 mph.

Eliezer Alfonzo had a GREAT day for AAA OKC today.

Dude went 4-for-6 with a double, RBI, and 2 runs scored in the Comets’ 12-10 win over Albuquerque.

Alfonzo is now hitting .312 with an OPS of .835, and had a 111 wRC+ coming into today, so that's gonna go up after his 4 hits. He’s walking at a 17.2% clip while keeping the strikeout rate at just 9.2%, and he's been solid behind the plate.

River Ryan is set to make his first start since April 11 on Friday for the OKC Comets after missing time with a hamstring injury.

I'm pretty down on the group of pitching prospects across the Dodgers system. The only one that had shown any real consistency through his first half-dozen starts was Copen, who was practically untouchable, but he's been hit really hard his last two games. It's starting to look a lot like last year for him. Otherwise, the rest in the top 30 are either injured or mostly ineffective. Actually, last year's two high draft picks, Root and Leiter, are doing okay but both are very managed on pitch counts -- they get pulled after 2 or 3 innings. With Ryan back tonight - hoping he shows better than before he went on the IL.

Eduardo Quintero continues to heat up, right along with the weather in Michigan, and had ANOTHER multi-hit game last night for the Loons. 4th multi-hit game in his last 5, and he's 10 for 20 in that stretch with 4 doubles and 4 RBIs.

After getting off to a slow start, he has his average all the way up to .254, and he's hitting .389 this month. He's got his WRC+ up to 94, so he's approaching league average, which is a HUGE rally for him, and it will continue to climb.

Atta Baby Eduardo, Keep ringin' that Cowbell! #dodgers #dodgersprospects

I hope they take their time bringing Kike back. In 26 OKC at bats, in the hitter-friendly PCL, he's batting .231 with an OPS of .641. That's Michael Siani bad and I'd hate to think what that would translate to at the MLB level.
