Not trying to steal Statman's thunder here...you've mentioned this kid before ... From CBSSports, the only Dodger prospect listed in the MLB top 25 13. Josue De Paula, OF, Los Angeles Dodgers Preseason rank: 25 De Paula has been a fixture on these lists for a few years now based on his immense slugging upside. He only just turned 20 in May, yet there are already signs he's starting to tap into that power. He ranks second in his affiliate in home runs, and he's achieved that while walking more than he's struck out. Additionally, De Paula has trimmed his ground-ball rate by nearly six percentage points, suggesting that he's doing a better job of elevating the ball. Resist that feeling of prospect fatigue when it comes to De Paula: the best is yet to come. MLB ETA: Summer 2027
Bad news first... Glass Now got lit up in OKC. 2.1 IP, 7 H, 5 ER, 1 BB, 3 Ks. On the other hand, Jackson Ferris, who's had a pretty rough season in Tulsa, pitched 6 scoreless on 3 hits and 3 walks, striking out 7. Hopefully he's turning a corner.
might be time to move on from Miller 10 earned runs on 11 hits damn thats as bad as it gets his trade value has to be pretty low at this point https://dodgersbeat.com/dodgers-far...nting-10-run-outing-for-oklahoma-city-comets/
kind of like trading stock and it gets down to less than 20% of its value what's the point if it goes to zero and it just might bounce reading what i wrote i was kind of just talking to myself but if someone wants him...
From Dodgers Insider The Dodgers' top two prospects have been selected for the All-Star Futures Game. We check up on them — Josue De Paula and Zyhir Hope — as well as some of the Minor Leaguers who had a hot June in On The Farm:
So it looks like the Dodgers prospect rankings have been reordered, with players like Rushing removed, and yes, De Paula and Hope are 1 and 2. Interestingly, Sirota only ranks at #17, despite outperforming (in my opinion, wow racist) his two outfield-mates (and in fact is ranked lower than #11 Kendall George from the same outfield). Here are the numbers at Great Lakes for all four. Keep in mind that Sirota started the season in Rancho. De Paula (age 20 - signed as an international FA in 2022 out of the DR) AB 253 R 53 H 68 2B 12 3B 1 HR 10 RBI 28 BB 59 SO 61 SB 24 CS 3 AVG .269 OBP .409 SLG .443 OPS .852 Hope (age 20 - drafted by the Cubs in 2023 in the 11th round out of high school, came over with Ferris Jackson in the Busch trade) AB 259 R 37 H 77 2B 18 3B 2 HR 7 RBI 46 BB 43 SO 78 SB 11 CS 6 AVG .297 OBP .401 SLG .463 OPS .864 George (age 20 - drafted in 2023 in round 1 by LAD out of high school - 36th overall) AB 226 R 46 H 55 2B 5 3B 3 HR 3 RBI 21 BB 43 SO 51 SB 31 CS 9 AVG .243 OBP .361 SLG .332 OPS .693 Sirota (age 22 - drafted in 2024 in the 3rd round by Reds out of college, came over in Lux trade) AB 101 (200) - 2025 overall stats in parentheses R 18 (44) H 32 (67) 2B 8 (16) 3B 1 (3) HR 6 (13) RBI 26 (50) BB 28 (43) SO 31 (56) SB 3 (4) CS 3 (4) AVG .317 (.335) OBP .451 (.448) SLG .594 (.640) OPS 1.045 (1.088) I guess De Paula, Hope, and George being two years younger than Sirota give them an edge in the rankings, or possibly their speed on the base paths factors in. In any case, hopefully we get some upward movement from a couple of these guys soon since AA Tulsa has no OF'ers in the top 25. Then Quintero (#5) and/or Jaron Elkins (#21) can get bumped up from Rancho to fill a vacancy in Great Lakes.
Sheehan got hit hard yesterday in OKC, and honestly I have no idea what they're doing with him. He had the one positive outing with the Dodgers after which they immediately sent him back down. The only comment I've seen is one from Roberts saying they're not yet sure in what role they'll use him. Meanwhile, they're overextending their bullpen and especially guys like Casparius. Why not have Sheehan start for now instead of a weekly BP game and then "if" the glassman and Snell come back move him to long relief, shorten Ben's outings, and dump one of the stiffs who shouldn't even be there? Has anyone heard anything more as to why Emmet got sent down?
Read that they were still building him up. The start he made against the Pads was unscheduled and was made out of necessity. Looking like he'll get a start against Houston.
Dodgers have five prospects in the mid-year MLB hot 100 ranking: 27 - Josue De Paula, OF (Hi-A) 37 - Zyhir Hope, OF (Hi-A) 42 - Alex Freeland, SS/3B (AAA) -- depending on Muncy's injury, could we be seeing him soon? 69 - Jackson Ferris, LHP (AA) 90 - Eduardo Quintero, OF (A) Here's the complete list: https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects Little more on De Paula and Hope, who are headed to the Futures Game on July 12: Dodgers: Josue De Paula, OF (No. 1/MLB No. 27); Zyhir Hope, OF (No. 2/MLB No. 37) The Dodgers may have more quality outfield prospects than any farm system, and two of them will take their talents to Atlanta. Few 20-year-olds can match De Paula's combination of swing decisions and exit velocities, and he could become a slightly smaller but more athletic version of Yordan Alvarez. Hope has a lofty ceiling as well, with the upside of a .275 hitter with 25-30 homers and 20 steals per season while providing fine defense in center or right field. Quintero jumped ten spots based on his season-to-date. Conversely, Ferris dropped 14 spots as his numbers this year have not been compelling. The other three weren't changed, and only moved relative to others' movement around them. Not getting why Ruiz is being called up and not Freeland, a 3B/SS who hits from both sides and is putting up good numbers at OKC.
Seriously, he is? Yeah, that's a head-scratcher for sure. Ruiz has had a decent year (leads the PCL in steals by a wide margin) and should get another shot in the majors (67 steals/47 runs for Oakland in 2023), but adding an OFer doesn't make sense to me. Unless the plan is to have Edman play infield more in Muncy's absence. Or they want to explore plan B's in case Conforto continues to suck. I just hope that this doesn't make Kike the everyday 3B. He's fine off the bench in the right situation, but he is NOT an everyday player.
