IDGAF what he is, I'm not a "saber guy," I just want whoever the hell will get the most out of his team, and Bud Black does.

I'll tell you Manny Acta wouldn't have bunted with Pederson in that situation... (I still can't believe that actually happened.)

96.875% of managers wouldn't have either.

Not using a pinch runner for AJ until he reached 3rd showed how fucking stupid our manager truly is....cost us a win

His dumbest move was bunting Joc then sending Kemp up right after.

Would have been better off telling Joc to stand there and look at every pitch, then send Kemp up. Everyone in the park except Mattingly knew it.

or at least sent somebody else to bat instead of Kemp, they'd probably walk them regardless.

Reading the LA press and how DBB is managing it appears they are in partnership to blow the team up down the home stretch. We now have a possible bona fide six outfielder controversy ready to be fed by the media. AGon has been super productive with Kemp protecting him and Kemp has been hot. Others not as much except Crawford and Turner and a little Uribe. Those five have been our offense and now the stage is set to alter part of it. DBB has wanted Pederson for months and now he has him. I believe the expression is be careful of what you wish for as you may get it. Now on to crunch time in Sept and the daily roster decisions. I think DBB knew exactly what he was doing having Pederson bunt. He wanted Kemp in the game and not making an impact, either that or he was sore and didn't want him to have to run much on the bases. Like another poster here and the LA Times writers they want Joc in center, Puig in right and Kemp in left. The hot Crawford? Oh yeah he platoons with the hot Kemp. Maybe DBB has just been resting people and that would make sense but as it has been all year the press wants to write the story and manage the team as they want.

Not sure Kemp and Crawford have been the reason for the offensive slump

the poster that mentioned Joc in CF, Puig in RF and Kemp in LF was me..however, that was my thinking for next season. i didn't say anything about blowing up what they already have going this year. it's too late in the season for that mess. i do think a lot of fans would like to see Joc play over Crawford tho..even though Crawford typically plays his best ball in late August-September-October.

SVS, imo, is a backup 1st baseman..that's it. he's a decent athlete for his size, but i think we've seen enough to know that he's not our best defensive play in ANY of the outfield positions.

People can now discuss/argue over who should be or should've been the manager...but it matters not. It just seems that who ever we think will be the savior, it doesn't matter. We all think we're gonna have Manny (the first year) or Puig (before the fall) again, but it doesn't work that way... more often than not. Joc watched some meatballs sail over the middle of the plate...why? Who knows? Why didn't he swing and hit a HR? because that's not BB too often. We all clamored for him to be out there, "please God have mercy and bring him up"...so they did, and why not a hero yet?
But why we choose the mediocrity and unproven leadership, and stay with it sign it over again; the head scratcher for me. Like Ned and Donnie, proven losers with a track record of basically mediocrity and sometimes epic failure. And DBB's mentor was a HoF guy who did nothing either. Did we want a clone of that? I guess so. We got it, too.
The manager should not lose games for the team; but the players had ample chance to pull that game out. Multiple. But it would never have gotten that far if a simple LL move by the manager was made, when it should have.
Non clutch guys inning after inning, plus a manager who has little clue at all, is a tough combination to beat. Or rather, an easy combo to beat.
When your announcer dubs the team "a questionable first place team", somethings not right, somewhere.
    Something smells rotten in...uh...Chavez Ravine.
I think it's coming from the Dodger dugout.
Anyway, nice game Frias. You get a standing O for that, and rightly so. Thanks for tryin', kid.

BZ, perhaps the most amazing post game comment by DBB was that he wasn't sure Frias would get another start. WTF?

Wow...I don't get that post game on my package.
In my book, he's earned one, no matter what my come...sad.
I wish it were he (DBB) that was questionable for another game. I think last night may have been his ultimate "achievement" in poor managing...it was like Wheel of Fortune in Vegas...worst odds of all, hands down...a loser no matter what comes up.
    Fucking Rainman.

if i'm Mattingly..i don't want other teams to know that i may throw Frias again..try to downplay it and keep the element of surprise. so i actually agree with what he said to the media there..not so Dum Dum.

now, i'm sure the message was different to the player(s) in the locker room.

Umm, are we assuming Mattingly actually thought of that. After yesterday I'm not sure if he can wipe his own ass.
