Great win...haven't a clue what Kenley is doing anymore, dangling his foot and getting all Cueto-y...but fuck it. I'll take it.
These are the games the Dodgers underperform. On another note, two hits against Jansen....not what you want to see from your closer. He still worries me.
And they went 7-4, I would argue the Reds and Marlins are much worse than the A's and Giants, their 8-34 record would back me up.
So then I guess LAD has a chance..a chance..of being above .500 at the end of this stretch..whooptygotdamndo. Regardless, another 30-35 games and we should know what's really what with this team. And if we look back and see that they've fluffed their record against the Reds, Marlins, Padres, Giants and other bums, the parade is pretty much going to be called off. Granted, LAD has the internal options and assets to semi-recreate themselves in June/July, but they should be past picking on the trash teams. No, by winning this series they've shown what they're capable of. It's time for all these damn games to become " winnable ". They should come out of this next 25-35 game stretch well above .500, whipping ass all around
agreed and this team should be scoring more runs but some really poor at bats/approaches, especially w/risp same old story i guess but yeah, the next month or so will give us all a better idea of where this team is...
I just can't get excited about soft spots in the schedule. A WS favorite, projected to win 100 games. I can get into finding the match ups like this past series. Not that taking a series VS the Nats in April is going to mean a ton, but I certainly feel better now as opposed to when they swept the pAAAdres. I wanna see this team challenged by real comp and circumstances and see how they come out of it. One could say they are being challenged without Turner, but I'm a next man up guy. They have kept the machine rolling without Kershaw in the past. Keep it moving now. Keep it moving against the good, the bad and the ugly with both hands tied behind your back. That's old time, championship Dodger baseball. Dodger Way over talent. Heart and hustle, if that's all they have to offer. Just find it. Last year they found it when Bellinger came up after Adrian's injury. Funny enough, this year it's old man Hill going to the DL and Buehler coming up. Can Buehler ignite them? We shall see.
