I'd take a dirty helmet in exchange for DDD. Just get him gone.

Absolutely the best line I heard about the LA/SF series...after the second game when showing a clip Bochy being ejected, Michael Young said "I guess they're not inviting Bruce to the sweep".
Prophetic, and kinda ballsy on the part of an announcer...and certainly warmed the cockles of my heart to see Bochy not getting all the luck or the calls as usually he does.
Still 4 more like Clayton said, so we all need to be frosty here...still 29 games to go.

Depends on the other offers and how the bidding shakes out for me. I'd rather not pair Jose Fernandez and Julio Urias, I know that much. I'd give them Yadier Alvarez along with Puig and Guerrero. All da Cubans 2 Miami. Lol

Just noticed that the vaGiants are still in third place in the Wild Card standings... now 6.5 games back of the Cubs!!!

SO everyone at DSP join me in rooting for the Cubbies for the next few weeks to keep the damned vaGiants out of the playoffs altogether

Yes, but the Cubs and Pirates I think have that locked up.

I'm more worried that 10 of our last 30 are with above .500 teams while the Giants have only 4 left (and that is with us at AT&T).

    Agreed.

In all cases we must keep our own house in order first.

Kershaw and Greinke appear properly focused to assure that in at least 50% of our games we'll be given a shot to win

    (before the bullpen implodes again)

We have to win those games against the sub .500 teams. There is no excuse anymore to blow a 6.5 game lead with 30 to go. Each game has to be played like a playoff game. No games off.

I recall the earlier game talking about it but WTF already how is it we're into September and there are 30 games left?

Did we really start that late?

Yup....we're 75-57 as of today. The season just seems longer and longer.....like the run up to the Super Bowl. That seems to take twice the amount of time it used to.

132 out of 162 and we've already played two games in September.

I wouldn't send Urias or Alvarez but definitely Puig and others. Also, don't forget that there isn't many teams that can absorb all that money owed to Stanton so Marlins would love to make a deal work with LA if he were put on the block.

Cubs play 14 games against above .500 teams (Pirates, Cards, Royals), so I don't think they necessarily have that locked up. If they win 40% of their remaining games while Giants win 60%, they will end around even.

But I agree - still don't feel completely comfortable with our lead. Yeah, it's great compared to where we were before the last series, but we still have work to do.

I ain't mad at that. Agreed on the pool of teams that'd have interest..a handful of teams like Boston, the Mets, probably Houston, etc. Big market teams with an influx of revenue TV and otherwise. Boston would probably be our biggest competition. They have the money and the prospects/MLB depth to go toe to toe with LAD. Of course the Marlins have been our trade buddies as well.

Not that its good if we were to acquire Stanton, but all of his injuries has to have lowered his trade value. Puig, Alvarez, and Anderson

If Loria trades Stanton before the second year of the contract is up then he is done. Miami won't draw flies (not that they do now) and the fans will stay away in droves. I fully expect Stanton to leave but not before he serves at least 4-5 years on his sentence. And make no mistake, it is a sentence and not a contract.
