No, but I bet you if we were to jump in, they'd ask for a package that included Urias. Then we would probably walk away.

We have true aces in the NL west.

I don't know if I would do that. Sale is controllable and a proven ace.......I would make that trade. Kershaw/Sale would be THE best 1-2 punch in all of MLB.

    Age/positions/scouting reports

Maybe it is closer then it first looks but yeah, I think the White Sox asked for more then those 2

That may be the case for Doyers/Giants/Dbacks but that does not mean the NL doesn't suck.

Im sure they did, but if Profar/Gallo is the center of the package that just seems a bit underwhelming. A package of Deleon/Verdugo beats Profar/Gallo

I'm just saying this FO has not exactly jumped onto the idea of giving up prized prospects for higher cost players. I don't think they are going to change that position now.

I'm hoping something good happens this time around.

    Brah.
Joey Gallo's been ranked in the Top 10 in all of baseball for like 2 or 3 years and Profar was #1 a short time ago.
Verdugo hasn't been valued that way nor has JDL

Yeah, their stock might've fallen a bit but only way you beat Gallo and Profar and others is including 2 of Urias, Seager, Joc or one of Urias/Seager + De Leon and others. Maaaaaybe Joc, De Leon,+ others but yeah

Maybe I'm overstating Gallo/Profar but they are extremely highly touted, or were very recently.

That's the thing, Sale is not a high cost guy. He is set to make $12M in 2017 and 2018. So by baseball standards that is cheap for a #1
But since they have made it to the bigs neither has produced up to expectation.
Agreed, I think their value has to have taken a hit given their stats in the bigs. Hence why I think two of Joc-Puig-Verdugo would be equal value.

I'd give up Julio for Sale any day. Easily. No hesitation. Urias is amazing. But Sale is a top 5 pitcher in the game and will fit our needs both short and long term. I'd be more weary to deal our position player prospects, honestly.

    Nah, man.
Gallo hasn't even made the jump yet and Profar has slashed .304/.351/.435 in 42 games this year.
The Rays are focused on Profar, want him at SS for them.
Profar hasn't been healthy his whole time up and this year he's flashing big time, you're stretching.
MLB's scouting system is not valuing Verdugo the way you think they are, it's one of things we often complain about in the Minors thread.
Gallo has been as high as #3 overall, as in all of baseball, currently around #7 or #8, Verdugo is sitting somewhere between 60-90

Yeah but when was that the conversation?
I thought we were talking about what an ace is?
    Archer is not an ace.
We have plenty of aces out here to compare.

Profar has been a "commodity" for years now and Gallo is the next Mike Olt.

Call the Yankees. Chapman is 19-20 in save opportunities & came through in the clutch vs the Giants tonight.

It's not the time, I know, but I feel semi-confident that he's fine. He was the only reliable part for a good amount of time, still has elite numbers, just having a terrible stretch. It's been fucking brutal and heartbreaking but he's still the dude.

Now, if this happens again... And again...
