Okay, that could be. Still think he should've been given a shot.

I'm no expert but I think they're hoping that they could sneak him through. He's coming off injury so it's possible. I was puzzled myself when they did it.

The Elbert thing had to do with the limited amount of time a guy can be on a rehab assignment before having to be added to the 25-man roster, the time was almost up, so they had to make that decision.

I'm not the biggest Elbert fan and we already have two superior lefty relievers in Howell and Paco (even though the FO is stupid with him).

Seriously, why are Perez and Maholm still things?

Elbow injury for Lee. Phillies were greedy and held onto him and now look what happens. Hope that franchise rots for the next 10-20 years.

@truebluela: Colletti said in talks for Price and Lester the Dodgers were asked for more than one of Pederson/Seager/Urias

Joc and Urias better be damn good.

The odds are very good at least one, if not both will flop. For Urias, it could easily be because of injuries, and to me, Joc screams very average player.

I hope they allow the position of Rover since we are so convinced we need to keep Joc that we may have missed adding the best pitcher available.

I am under the impression that it wasn't us who balked at trading Pederson it was the Rays who balked at accepting Pederson unless he came with Urias or Seager. Had they been willing to take Pederson, Lee, Anderson/Reed or some combination of second tier prospects I think we pull the trigger. Problem is no one wants our second tier prospects. At least when they're giving up a proven ace.

Like I said I don't think Pederson woulda landed us Price cause they didn't want an OF. Colletti said it himself that it woulda been two of Seager/Urias/Pederson for others and we woulda hated something like that for a rental in Lester or John Lackey.

What sucks is if we have Pederson log jammed forever and remain with Crawfird, Ethier kemp; specifically Ethier/Carl.

If Joc is gonna be what they say he is, why are you gonna keep these clogs on there. Andre, Carl and even Kemp aren't gonna raise their trade values anytime soon or later

it is a weird contract and i had to look at it twice when i read about it and what do expect from that schmendrick?
i don't know if they gave him over market at the time but i sort of like clauses like this that would penalize a player for doing something stupid whether its in the game or outside of it and getting injured. not like tommy john surgery or in game injury unless it was like kemp walking home, then running and then being out of a year. why should the team have to pay because he was asleep?
if more contracts were written this way ticket prices and beer might be less who knows/ never become a trend though
