The Padres now have 3 LFs lol, wtf are they thinking?

I'm not a huge defense guy, but those three in that OF is going to make for a lot of fun and funny plays.

yea, and their starting pitching doesn't really impress me..that defense in the OF won't help..neither will Derek Norris behind the plate. i think people forget that 6 of those 7 stolen bases in the WC game came with Norris sittin back there. Lol

SD will be able to hit, but they kinda look like they're using a " 2012 Dodgers start up manual " without having a Kershaw/Kenley already in place. Dodgers are easily gonna be a more sound team from head to toe.

LF is probably, aside from 1B, the easiest position to fill via trade or free agency. Not necessarily great options at all times, but if a long term solution doesn't come, 1-2 year stop gaps can come by. I mean look at all the corner outfielders that were available this ear. I'm not saying that'll happen every year but since it's one of the easier positions to defend, it might not be too hard finding a solution there every year.

3b/SS does worry me. Seager can be slotted into one, with some risk of course, but whichever position he doesn't man on the left side will need to be filled creatively.

Almost all of them that are on twitter do nowadays to be honest. A front office won't notify a player until it's basically on the finish line before physicals

That's fine for prospects and low level players, but for a guy that has been with the Dodgers 9 years, they should have at least made a phone call and told him that they were in serious discussions to trade him.

Padres fans haven't been this excited since the 90s. Good for them....I'm not worried though.

and as far as Kemp goes personally..here's a guy who used his agent last year to suggest that it may be time for him to move on from the Dodgers, so i really hope he's not tryin to play the victim.

The Dodgers announced that they have designated first baseman/outfielder Kyle Jensen for assignment to clear a 40-man roster spot for Jimmy Rollins.

We will not score runs. We lost so much speed and power.

Expecting Rollins, Uribe, AGon, and Crawford to continue at their ages and/or injury history is a stretch.
Hoping Puig can have a good 2nd half is something that has happened in 2 seasons so far.
Kendrick is better than Dee on offence...but not that much.
Our catchers are not going to provide offense.
We have a rookie in CF that didn't hit a lick last season....we also have a washed up P.O.S. ex-roider named Ethier.

Sorry but I do not see the improvement on this team other than some better gloves up the middle and a possibly more stable bullpen.

    EDIT: Wrong thread...sorry mods

Seems like the Padres are now in position to get national media exposure like they haven't had before. Should be able to draw fans of other teams to watch and enjoy them.

You're right that Rollins/Uribe/Agon/Crawford all have a likelihood of regressing due to age/injury, but it's the same fears that woulda been true with Kemp/Hanley. Probably moreso with them then anything. That's why it was so crucial for the front office to get players like Enrique, Barnes, keep Barney/Turner, to help have players who aren't terrible fill in. You can't just buy great players to stash in Triple A but the guys they got are better then going with Miguel Rojas and Carlos Triunfel when players get hurt.

I think our catchers spot is going to be substantially better then last year and is actually set up to be good for the next years.

Joc is a wild card but at worst bet he improves the defense and although he's gonna struggle when he comes up, the Dodgers have to see if this prospect can pan out. You can't just hold him til he's 25, you have to go through growing pains like when Kemp/Ethier came up. He's gonna K a lot and get us mad but if by the end of the year or by 2016 he's reached his upside, it's worth it.

I don't know if the team is going to be better next year, maybe it's not. But I still think this team is the best team in the NL West next year and is also being set up nicely to widen it's winning window. There's downgrades in some areas, but those areas are in areas of depth (OF) meanwhile we upgraded in other areas on both sides of the plate
