    i'm not even worried about 3rd base after next season. Seager can go there and they can go with Arruba at SS, or maybe Rollins does well enough at SS and leading off to bring him back on a 1yr deal. or maybe Beltre's option doesn't vest and he hits the market. or maybe Turner takes it over. or whatever.

    one thing to recognize is that the Rays are gonna end up blowing their team up because they're gonna have to sell and move now that they won't be getting a new stadium..so at some point in the near future..expect to hear Longoria/Friedman/Dodgers rumors. may be 2 or 3 yrs from now, but it's coming. sad stuff for Tampa as a city.

    the Giants pretty much just won 3 titles playing a good old fashion Dodger brand of baseball. Pitch the ball, catch the ball, have good ABs, put the ball in play, and get timely hits. And now our roster reflects a move back to that signature Dodger brand of baseball as they also look to incorporate the youngsters. Hell of an offseason..if last night's big " fuck you " to Preller was the capper, what a way to end it.

    Friedman is trying to trade Arruebarrena. He can't hit, he's not the solution long term at SS anyways. Seager is playing SS in 2016 most likely, meaning the Dodgers will need to get a 3B to replace Uribe.

    Yea, I saw that and I'm right there with you. He seems like a GREAT teammate, is fun and, most importantly, a solid, versatile player.

    Punto brought a lot in his time with the Dodgers..wonder what kind of impression he left on Zaidi in Oakland.

    he wouldn't exactly make the Dodgers any younger, that's for sure.

    here's what i like
    we're setting the team up for the future while still staying competitive
    we might miss hanley and kemp's production, but we certainly won't miss their horrific defense and (purported) clubhouse antics
    plus i'm not really sure their absence will even matter, or at least not to the degree people think
    our defense up the middle has improved substantially
    so while we might score fewer runs, we'll likely give up less as well
    this will be huge for groundball pitchers like mccarthy and (to a degree) zack
    and, oh yeah, we still have the best pitcher on the planet... at least in the regular season:duck:

    so yeah...
    we've improved the rotation
    improved the pen (a bit)
    improved the defense
    added a catcher (who actually knows how to frame pitches)
    and rid ourselves of the three (again, purported) clubhouse problems
    and who knows if we're even done?

    just my :2cents:

    Cubs To Sign David Ross

    The Cubs have agreed to a two-year, $5MM deal with catcher David Ross, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports on Twitter. Reports emerged earlier today suggesting that the veteran was headed to the Padres, but indications are that he is in fact set to join former teammate Jon Lester in Chicago.
