Ankles don't count. They won't be interested until he has a torn labrum.

Hope the game tonight goes 15 innings and everyone pitches (and the Cubs wins I think)

At the very least want Scherzer and Quintana pitching out of the pen

That would be ideal, forcing the Cubs to start Lackey in Game 1 and either Lester or Arrieta on short rest in Game 2. Or the Nats to go with (assuming Gio makes the start today) Roark in Game 1 and someone else (Strasburg on short rest isn't likely).

I'd rather see the Cubs, they don't have the dominant arms that the Nats do in Strasburg and Scherzer.

I agree, and the Nats lineup in my opinion is way deeper

Although you’re right that the Cubs don’t have 2 dominant arms, Kyle hendricks is really fucking good and scares me. Shut down the Dodgers twice last year and this year looked the same against the Nats.

Cubs lineup and bullpen scares me considerably less though.

Yeah if Gio/Max/Kyle/Quintana all throw 30+ pitches tonight then every outcome is a win for the Dodgers.

Don't forget about the thigh injury that kept him out a couple months earlier this year

The feet first slide is becoming a lost art in the game.

I think that was his point Irish, he was taking a subtle shot at his players while praising the Dodgers.
I dont know what else he said but this comment is about his team not showing up and he letting them know that the Dodgers did what they had to do to win while his team did not.

not sure if this was posted elsewhere but its a great article on how humble and great maeda has been out of the pen
apparently a big surprise to everyone except those of us here that were hoping for it
wish ryu didn't take so long to get warm and not really thinking avilan is going to be who we want out there either

Avilan was good this year but, he’s kinda a weird player in that I think he’s only to be used in specific matchups. His bread and butter is that changeup, and it’s helpful to have a lefty who can get righties and lefties out.

I hope he’s on the roster over Baez but also hope that he’s only needed or used in lower leverage spots. Cingrani should be the guy to face a lefty for one out, Avilan can be used if you need an inning to get a lefty and righty out.

Anyways, similar to last series, the best hope is that Avilan and Stripling don’t even pitch cause the rest of the Dodgers did their job

If Avilan is ready, no reason to not put him on the roster (over Stripling or preferably Baez), whose to say they don't need to get a lefty out in the 4th in a big spot, then you still have 2 available.

Was glad JT went feet 1st when he tried to go home, but was thrown out
With Seager's elbow already an issue, last thing we need is both the 2 and 3 spot hitters being banged up and scuffling

Underrated aspect of that play was the throw by Peralta. Pretty sweet peg, especially since he was flat footed.

Yeah I mean if you can’t beat the corpse of CC Sabathia in an elimination game, you don’t deserve a title.
