  2. Front line starter (degrom, thor, et al)

I know they're trying to strengthen and push his innings up, but is he coming up as a starter? Where does he get his relief work? Bring him up and just hope he can find it/dial it up for 1-2 innings in games that are out of hand?

He is supposedly coming up as a reliever, but I believe they said that he would need a fresh inning and low leverage. It just does not make a whole lot of sense for a team not sure of anything when it comes to a playoff berth. THE ONLY thing that I was thinking was that they have been floating bullshit this entire time. The plan all along was that he would start for the team if he was ready and they will either go back to a 6 man rotation, or it is their way to move Wood to the pen. Have Urias come and pitch the first 2-3, maybe 4 innings of what will essentially become a bullpen game. That would be the best case scenario, imo. By that I mean he is living 94-96 again with command and a feel for his secondary pitches. Obviously this is all speculation and who knows what the plan is.

Definitely hard to follow the bouncing ball. Maybe just the way they like it

Ryan Madson was put on waivers today and he is not perceived to pass the Dodgers. His numbers are frightening at first glance, but they are heavily skewed due to 3 fucking terrible outings that have accounted for 14 of his 26 ER's this season. I'm pretty high on all the drugs I am taking to get over this cold right now, but if my math is right, outside those 3 blowups he has a 2.5ish ERA. Kelvin Herrera was also expected to be claimed by the Dodgers, but then we all saw what happened there. The thing to watch here is where the Phillies and Dodgers fall in the seeding. The clubs were tied to start the day when I believe he was placed on waivers. I think he is a guy you absolutely take a shot at and if he gets right, is the 8th inning guy they are looking for. His stuff has supposedly not taken a hit this year, so it could be more of a sequencing issue.

Certainly worth a shot at this point, especially with Kenley struggling badly.

Yup, all we'll need then is a ninth inning guy.
Whatever the reason is for Kenley's incredibly poor showings repeatedly, heart related or meds residual effects, he can not be used in his present level of function.
If he needs to shut down for the rest of the season, or retire competely from the game, so be it. It happened to arguably the greatest pitcher of modern times.
But letting him continue as if he can duplicate his past performances (or at all, depending on what could medically happen), is cultivating a scenario for another typical Dodger heartbreak on so many levels, it boggles the mind.

I missed this earlier, but the Dodgers are the team that claimed Ryan Madson. I would guess that a deal will get done unless the Nate have no interest in moving him.

His numbers don't look good on the surface but if you dig a little deeper he'd be a solid get.

Yeah, I posted this earlier that he has had 3 horrific outings that killed his overall numbers.

Still throws 95-96 mph with a changeup and curve that drops to 84-85. He’s probably better than some other options we have I think

Any reliever we add is a positive, it can’t get worse and bullpens are all about getting hot at the right time. Madson could throw 20 good innings, why not

Word is that the Dodgers are very interested in landing Madson. Was not supposedly put in as a block.

Morosi saying the Dodgers are in on Madson and Blevins. Neither are elite, but are upgrades to what we have.

Blevins is having a super strange year. Historically is very good against lefties and awful against righties and this year it’s flipped around

Yeah I saw that as well. Sometimes that’s sequencing, but sometimes it’s just a bad year. Considering he fell completely unclaimed makes me think it could the latter in many eyes. We shall see though.

Man if LAD's Harper claim had led to a sweet Puig-Harper swap......damn.

Segedin DFA'd, Fields activated, Garcia to HiA Rancho. Odd choice since their season is not over for a bit longer due to them being PO bound.
