Don't think that in light of the last three decades, it's that spoiled to expect something like a WS win is it, Fordie? What are we,the Braves now?
I mean, damn, how many shots are we supposed to get at it before we make good on the opportunity?
And sending a contingent to Japan with Orel for an extended time to evaluate Ohtani top to bottom; that seems to be forgotten... and as NZ wrote, Stanton throwing himself at us to be one of us...just don't think it's wrong for anyone to expect to get at least land one of them.
And let two of the three top rivals the Dodgers ever had be the landing place for them?
I guess it was just a little vacation for Orel and the other guys who went to Japan to see the cherry blossoms, and so what if the NL MVP lies prostrate before you...

Deep down I knew we weren't getting Stanton, but still super pissed. And oddly the Yankees might be the last place I wanted him to go. Fuck this. We don't deserve good things.

This Stanton shit is so disappointing. The fact that this organization has thrown a bunch of money at shitty players and international players who they’ve since cut ties with makes this even worse. Now all of a sudden they’re penny pinchers and want to be the Tampa Bay rays? Ridiculous. Or better yet they want to go after guys like Harper or machado after this season and pay 30-40 mil a year? Come on, I hope not. I’m sure they’ll make a move or two in the coming weeks but they’ve def left a sour taste in a lot of fans mouths for not making this move.

Escalated pretty quickly. Thought it'd be at least another week before anything happened.

    and speaking of darvish
    here's his take on honeycutt...
    • “He’s very quiet, but when he says things, it’s all positives. “He just let me be who I am. I think that helped me to just relax.”
wished he would have made you be somebody else
glad you were able to relax while putting together two of the worst ws starts ever

    from truebluela...
    • The Dodgers could have drafted Giancarlo Stanton out of Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks in 2007. Instead, they picked Chris Withrow in the first round. Stanton fell all the way to No. 76 and in the second round, where the Marlins selected him. The Dodgers had another pick in between Withrow and Stanton, but drafted left-handed pitcher James Adkins instead. Adkins never made the majors.

Meh, I’m ok with that. Happens all the time. I think he just played out his 6 years anyway, so it’s all moot.

I haven’t. But also haven’t heard the Dodgers are in on it still. It’s over and done as far as I see it. Our FO has the balls of a neutered cat.

There was a piece about Stanton that kind of explained why he fell where he did and how the Dodgers missed out on him. Basically, he was a 3 sport athlete, so he was raw and few saw him outside of the short HS season. The Dodgers were also under the McCourt cutbacks and a scout at the time said something along the lines of "we could only draft guys who would sign for under slot." Fun times.

Chris Withrow and James Adkins aren't sure if they're supposed to like this or not.

That's because they don't have to. Dodger fans are too loyal to revolt, which is why we get abused like this time and time again.
