Of course MLB is going to shrug it off. Probably already knew and just let them because of Harvey

MLB is not like the NFL. They HATE controversies. Shit, they swept steroids under the rug for years and it wasn't until the government got involved that they did something. These teams speaking up publicly and loudly means that the Astros are doing something that other teams aren't willing to do and they feel the integrity of the game is at risk. I like how I am sitting here calling for their heads when there is a very real scenario that the Dodgers are going to get the death penalty and need to be sold soon after....

Nerds were trying rebuild one of MLB's crown jewel franchises after the last owner ran them into the ground. Behind the curtain, MLB better have their backs.

I realize, as long as there is competitive sports, there will be whatever done to get the edge. Human nature.
Plenty of shit went on back in the day, but it was more on a one to one basis.Plenty of spit balls, shine balls, pine tar, sharpened spikes, hidden sandpaper, hollowed out bats, etc.
Just very infuriating, as a Dodger fan to realize that's a main reason we lost to these shitheels.
They should be "Jim Thorped", if you get my meaning.
I guess there isn't enough racism these days (!) to take it away as they did to Bright Path back in the day.
And not the hypocritical IOC, either.

Indians players accused them of using pine tar or something.

The Angels have opted out of their stadium deal. Do not look too hard into this at the moment. Moreno has been bitching about a new stadium for years and this opt out only comes up every 10 years. They are going to wait for the election in November and then plan to negotiate with the new mayor and trustees. I am in the minority here, but I think he actually is in the position of power at this time. He has two of the most exciting players in the game entering or in their primes. I could see him using that to say, "do you want to be the X that was responsible for me taking this team to LA?" I am really hoping that one thing that comes from this is that they get their new stadium in Anaheim and they have to change the name back to the Anaheim Angels.

I think Anaheim is a good location for them, but they needed to opt out for leverage. Whether it be a new ballpark or renovating Angel Stadium.
I don't mind their name. It's common practice across all sports. They are the American League representative of the Los Angeles market.
I just didn't like the way Moreno went about it.
Moving to a place like Tustin or Irvine would be a bad idea, as they'd lose market share to the Dodgers from cities in north west Orange County, South LA County/Long Beach. Traffic aside, those areas would be just as close to Dodger Stadium as the "orange county" alternative Angels.

I'd be curious to see what a ballpark would look like for them. Probably a high 30,000 capacity. It'd be cool if they did an open outfield like they originally had before the Rams and Disney turned it into a circus.

It's clear to me that the Dodgers are stealing signs. How else would you explain this onslaught of runs that they've scored in these 5 games?
