Trash. If the Lakers somehow traded for Mike Conley for some reason, it'd be the equivalent of this mess.
4+ years to a 31 year old, injury prone Pollock

It sounds like it is a step 1 (or step 2, as Martin may have been step 1). Joc is probably on his way out now and it sounds like they have picked up negotiations with the Marlins. So Barnes may be out the door as well. Not sure if they will move Verdugo at this point as that would open up another hole in OF.

I'm gonna be in the minority here, but I like it, using the depth he's only gonna have to play 120 or so games (I talked about this before, but he's not gonna be asked to be the 3rd best player on the team, as he was in AZ) and he just has to fill a role..

If it's a 4-year deal, as opposed to 5, all the better, hopefully he plays well enough to utilize the opt-outs as well.

Listening to MLB radio a few minutes and they were saying something similar.

If he remains healthy and can play like he did at the beginning of last season, then this is fantastic. The thing is he has just never been able to stay healthy, so the frustrations are warranted. I agree with some sentiment out there that we needed a CFer. I liked Bellinger out there, but he definitely misplayed more than a couple of balls that a normal CF'er would have caught. From everything I am hearing, Pollock is an incredibly underrated defensive centerfielder and that is good to hear. Just when a guy like Harper is still out there and knowing there is a decent chance for that dude to put up a higher WAR in one year than Pollock could realistically do over the life of this contract, it really pisses me off.

IF...and it is a HUGE IF...IF Pollock stays healthy, the OF defense is gonna be one of the best we have seen in a long long time. That is two ++ arms at the corners in Verdugo and Bellinger. I know that Pollock is solid out there, but I am not fully sure of what his arm is like.

My thoughts a couple weeks ago on Pollock.

Feel the same way now but I dont think he will be able to reach my threshold

Heyman now also reporting the Dodgers and Marlins have picked up talks for Realmuto. Sounds like they have gotten realistic in their asking price. We may have some more moves coming quickly.

AJ Pollock has already passed physical onhis Dodger deal. Slated to earn $55m in first 4 years, but could earn opt-out after Year 3 if he reaches set no. of PA. 5th year player option for $10m, w/ $5m buyout

Early reports say there is a line a mile long at the Top Of The Park Store, with people looking to pre-order AJ Pollock jerseys.

In response to that tweet, this from Passan:
This is correct. For luxury-tax purposes, the deal will be seen as a five-year, $60 million package -- $12 million a year for the Dodgers' sake. And for a team looking to stay under the luxury-tax threshold, that $12 million AAV is a huge boon.

The contract is a four-year deal “filled with incentives, escalators and opt-outs,” according to
    USA Today’s Bob Nightengale,

If this is true, I'm not as annoyed with this signing. I want a big bat in the middle of the lineup, Harper and Machado would be nice but 10 years and $300 plus is never going to pan out......i know MGT has TONS of money, like Garillions of dollars, but how many big contracts like that have actually worked out over the full 10 years?? I can't think of any. If im gona spend that type of cash, I would rather hold out for Trout in 2 years......or make a run at local kid Arenado.

If MGT pulls off the JT trade, this is not a bad off season.

Rosenthal is reporting that the club is not close to trading Pederson at this moment.

So the Dodgers got a CF who can leadoff and steal bases on a cheap contract and people are not happy?
Looks like Polock will be my Puig for 2019.
