#neverforget But that speed and power was sapped after all that moving up to heavyweight, down to super-middleweight and back again. Almost like the Dodgers..they were welterweights under McCourt, jumped up to the heavyweight division with Guggs initial spending burst, are now moving down to light-heavyweight and eying a drop to super-middleweight. Dodgers are sapped. I fully expect the Cards or Cubs to rise up and Tarver the Dodgers this season. Lol

But yeah, prime RJJ was absolutely worth the price of admission and took on all comers without ducking and stringing guys along for years. Neva lost over his 1st 50 fights and about a 99% KO/TKO rate. Smh Just one DQ over for letting a guy have it while he was down. You basically had to be a hall of famer like Hopkins to make through a fight with prime RJJ without getting KO'd/TKO'd. And similarly, LAD wouldn't make it through a bidding war with NYY

Totally agree and I also am pretty skeptical about their future. They need pitching fairly badly and their farm is pretty barren now. They're relying pretty heavily on Arrieta having a bounce back year, which may be a lot to ask for at this point.

If the Phils do go all in for Harper, I'll be shocked if they don't go all in and snatch Degrom away from the Mets when he's due. The last time Philly went all in..they went all in. Remember the Cliff Lee, Cole Hamels, Roy Halladay and Oswalt rotation? And that was before the TV deal

You've got Sale and Bumgarner coming up after this season as well as Verlander and Strasburg ( opt out)
Then Degrom the following offseason along with Paxton

I wonder if the Mets are out of it by the trade deadline, if the Dodgers won’t try to trade for DeGrom.

Maybe check in, but as with Kluber, they'll probably fail. Sounds like Lux, Ruiz and May aren't going anywhere and are walking the path of Seager, Julio and Belli. Destined to stay put

Pretty interesting piece on Jones Jr. Very polarizing fighter.

Back when boxing was still worth a damn. Wish he would've hung them up before the late career slide. Hurt his legacy, but gotdamn if it wasn't a greatest show while it lasted, finishing guys off left and right like a Kung Fu flick..way better than Mayweather's shows. RJJ actually hit a guy so hard that when he hit the canvas he had a seizure and looked like a real life zombie.

Ali and RJJ are out in front all time for me. Imagine an Ali/RJJ matchup..I'd feel cheated if they didn't make it a 7 fight series. Ali with the height and reach advantage..RJJ quicker and a little more aggressive. Equally clever and mirror matches in showmanship. Give me Mills Lance @ ref and a few judges that know what they're doing and let's get it on

Yes, he’s from Vegas. He clearly doesn’t want to play in Philly for whatever reason, probably prefers the West Coast like you said. He’s been in the NL East, so he has a pretty good idea of what it would be like to play in Philly.

In the end, Boras will push him to go to Philly for the biggest deal. It will be interesting to see what Harper’s real values are. If you are signing a deal for more money than you can ever spend, you should play where you want. 10 years of your life... even 5 years... it’s a long time to spend in a place that doesn’t make you happy, especially when there is absolutely no need to.

Along with the "im tired of losing" quotes from last year, Arenado is an Orange County guy. Everyone keeps saying Trout is headed back to Philli.....why can't Areando be headed back to Cali???

Pretty accurate there. If RJJ weren't as supremely talented, his fights against Toney and Hopkins wouldn't have been open and shut. Couldn't even build any rematch hype out of those fights against future hall of famers, which is amazing in itself. Totally outclassed them. Only when RJJ was out of his prime and sapped could they get Hopkins back in the ring with him and have it be interesting. Smh Superman lost his powers and guys were stepping up left and right to get a piece.

Certainly have never seen anybody with that much power/speed from so many angles and positions. That great sudden speed, just what you're looking for in boxing. Boom..without warning. KO'd Virgil Hill on body shot. Smh Future HOF Shane Mosley had great hand speed and power in his heyday, but it wasn't like RJJ's. Mosley was sort of predictable with his speed and technique, which is still impressive because he obviously got his point across many times, but didn't have the same suddenness and will behind it even though he could really unload here and there. Lots of KO's for Mosley though, almost as many as RJJ. Canelo is about 4 or 5 shy from the 40 KO mark as well, but of course, he's not in their class in terms of speed

After the past two endings we need something to boost morale. How do you put a price on morale? Give Bryce a blank check and a locker next to J.T. and as far away from CK and KJ as possible.

Let Alex play. Belli back to 1B and Max to 2B
